He didn't only take the fight that was on HBO, he also took what was clearly a tougher fight as well. Dzinziruk would have beaten the **** out of Zbik.

does everyone think ward really will du a number on him. ??? i think its 50-50 sergio could get smothered. n pushed bk in, in close fighting and sergio moves in straight lines when pushed back and his lack of technical knowladge really shows but at the same time i think when ward counters sum martinez flurries, martinez is adabt at firing first letting some one counter then landing last in each exchange. he could make it interesting

yep the " razor" is a far more polished boxer and can bang harder imo. deffo harder fight. as well considering how chavez fared with martinez how do you rate macklin. i really think that guy is good. n his performance against a common foe shows his calliber against the mexican pretender. wouldnt mind seeing macklin fight martinez again somewhere down the line if macklin keeps winning. he shudda beaten sturm neways

"So.... when a guy (who only went to middleweight in the first place not because he couldnt make 154, but for the williams fight) is obviously outsized in the division he is in, in what line of thinking does it makes sense that he would then move up to yet another division? Against a guy who is seemingly on his last legs at 168 as it is, and who may be moving up to 175 very shortly. " Kirk .. i agree with you to a point consider what your implying then next paragraph you mention being an atg and p4p number 1. i agree with the oposition choice at the weights in comparison 2 a mayweather or pac but just look at ther careers and imagine if at there 3 year into peak performance thay both took the same attitude. pac would still be bashing on mexicanse as a light weight n may would be doing the same threabouts. if u wanna be the best and a atg and a p4p number 1 ou take them risks like all the greayest boxers in the lower/ mid divisions did. you dont do a risk assessment and say well i want to b an atg and number one so il fight a much smaller person than myself. you do the oposite boxing hall of fame and atg listls prove that. plus money 4 the big fights mite be there in short term. legacy is there when your kids have grand kids

Ward himself already stated he couldn't come down to 160 for the fight and Sergio is a natural JMW anyways who only fought at MW cause of circumstace. Pavlik tried to cherry pick him and it backfired and since he was the champ at MW as a result he stayed there but reality is that he's a small MW and can likely easily make 154. I'd love to see him come back to 154 and fight Mayweather, best fight in the sport as far as significance

He said he would fight Ward, as long as it was at 160 or even a catchweight. Ward will not do it.

why would he fight Sven Warddke?no ppv,no fans, the fight must be in Oakland with Warddke's judges and referee and Martinez would make 600k.and let's not forget Sven Warddke is not draining himself,he only drains other fighters,he always have to fight on his terms because he is a glass jaw coward disgrace, like his fans.

  8. Martinez is a Jr MW fighting at MW. I often read people saying he should make the jump to SMW, and it makes me :rofl:patsch.

There really is a slew of pea-brained oinks on this forum.

Also stupid to call him a coward when you consider, as a small Middleweight, he's just fought a Cruiserweight. :think

the only one he has to chase is mayweather. 160 is his max weight. if he fights a 168lber he is fighting someone 190+ on fight night. too much.

Sergio could fight at 168 if he wanted to. All that he's too small **** is what he says to avoid a fight with Ward and to justify chasing after welterweights. I understand that 5 years ago nobody gave a **** about him, he's pushing 40 and wants to cash out. That's fine, but for him to act like he wants to fight these smaller guys for "competitive" aspect of it is bull****. If he's so desperate for a payday and none of these smaller guys will fight him, he might as well retire or fight Ward, get his ass handed to him, but collect the check he's looking for. Sergio's 15 mins are almost up.....

Ok, well Ward is just as big as Chavez jr and smaller than Pavlik, so why are Sergio and his fans acting like Ward is too big? See, anyone can play that game....

what a troll question. anyway u know the answer and I'm sure u would do the same thing as Sergio if u were in his shoes.

Martinez fought with PW , KP who were top fighters from jr MW and MW division and now he beat Macklin and Jr ( top 5 MW ). If u look at his fights record , Sergio fought with bigger guys than him.

Floyd, Cotto and Canelo are great fights in every way for Martinez , period !:deal

p.s Martiez said that he would fight with Ward at 160 or cw , so STFU and Log Off ! :hi:
