Even the disgraced Shakur Stevenson has a WBC lightweight championship belt but Tank Davis has the low tier WBA regular belt. How do you call yourself the face of boxing with that type of belt?
Davis had all the talent to run through the divisions and knock everyone out like Tyson did in the 80s. But his management is taking the extra safe route. Davis could be a whole lot more popular than he is but his team is so risk adverse it turns a lot of people off. Davis had a head start on all his contemporaries in Shakur, Haney, and Teo but despite being younger they have all surpassed him.
Haney is vacating all of his lightweight belts, so Tank will probably be elevated to full WBA champion.

He's never actually beaten the best fighter in a division. He has an opportunity to unify LW now Haney has left. Shakur, Davis and Loma are likely to be the title holders so it could be a good period for the LW division as all 3 are well suited at the weight.
