Why doesn't Warren just put Langford in with BJS on Oct 22?

Neither have an opponent at the moment, and Langford is no. 2 with the WBO.

Langford is decent but I can't see many a world title chances coming his way, and it's unlikely he can beat Saunders.

So rather than sticking Billy in with an unheard of Russian or American, just put these two together. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Really depends if WBO would sanction the fight, Tommy is a very good fighter but is he ready for Billy I'd doubt it

If he's indeed the #2, there wouldn't be any reason not to sanction it. Otherwise they would admit their own rankings to be utter bull.

They would sanction it. It has to be someone in the top 15 and Langford is 2nd- higher than Brant and Akavov.

And will Langford every be ready for that level? Might as well give him a shot- surely Langford losing to Saunders for a world title is more beneficial to Warren than Langford losing to Eubank for the British.

Just shows how bad the wbo rankings are. Langford ranked at number 2 yet has only fought at commonwealth title level and not for a domestic title as yet. Was the same with Mitchell smith he was number 4 wen he lost to jupp and he had only boxed at English title level

A the guy who everybody moaned about CEJ agreeing to fight is now good enough an opponent for BJS and a world title? Ok...

Why wouldn't he? World title shots for fighters of that standard don't grow on trees.

At 3 weeks notice it's not a bad fight, if Saunders is indeed using it as a tune-up for GGG. The guys in the frame to fight him are really no better and unheard.

You can pick holes in all of them to be fair. Frank Warren has always had a decent relationship with the WBO. Had Liam Smith and Terry Flanagan done all that much to warrant their shots at the time they won titles?

Who's fault is it that he only has three weeks? Someone needs to take responsibility for the absolute **** show that is Billy Joe Saunder's title 'reign'.

It's really not relevant to this thread. Stay on topic

From Frank's side of things I guess it makes sense. As a boxing fan, no thank you.

Who is realistic at 3 weeks notice you'd rather see BJS face (bear in mind it's in Cardiff with no US TV)?

As mentioned by others, we should really be asking why there isn't a fighter scheduled already. But with 3 weeks notice I don't see how someone like Khurtsidze would be that unrealistic. Plus, he's better than Langford.
