they do unify but dont hold the titles for long as the abc gangsters tend to strip them for not wanting to fight gay as mandatories or because they just wanna have another fighter as there champ eg.. morales/wbc. and also fighters have to pay a % of there purse to fight for the title so it would be fairly expensive to hold all four titles and defend them

But still. Most of the division have four "champions". Doesn't look like they are trying to face each other.

They probably aren't. ABC belts look good on TV fighters so you can say "World Champion (INSERT NAME!) is fighting (INSERT SCRUB).

So what happens is the people that are on HBO or Showtime need an opponent to be approved by the network. A good example is Berto. He won the IBF belt but instantly gave it up because his mandatory wasn't approved for TV so he dropped it. And if a sanctioning body wants to put it on a TV fighter, they'll stall with challengers and mandatories until someone well known gets their belt. It's all business and politics.

I think a massive tournament would help speed things up

All the Champions in the division face off in knockout tournament ( If a fighter holds more than one title the mandatory for that title joins the tourny )

    Problem ****ing solved.

Of course the governing bodies would never allow this

Too much money to be made from carrying one of the 14756 titles and being called a "champion". Would it really be that tragic if one or two of the sanctioning bodies had to fold?

Good fricken question. I'm tired of all these guys talking about moving up in weight and winning crappy belts. How about you unify the belts in your own division

Because those silly trinkets are irrelevant to who is a the best boxer in a division.

Cuz they don't want to pay the sanctioning fee. Plus others champions just don't want to face other champions maybe cuz they know they'll get their ass beat.

Take donaire- no other champion wanted to fight him at his division after they saw him KTFO darchinyan

Khan--After king khan whoop maidana's ass, timothy headbutt bradley got scuurrrdddd.

Its gotten to the point where belts literally mean nothing.

When Hatton/Pacquiao fought at 140 it was for some Mickey Mouse IBO belt, yet everyone knew they were the 2 best fighters at that weight.

They didnt need some trinkets to prove it.
