Why don't Floyd's opponents run just like him?

The problem with fighting Floyd is he lands and then move. His speed allows him to get away with this. He is winning the rnds so this now forces the other guy to initiate the action which plays into Floyd's strenght, countering with his superior speed.

Floyd's opponents almost seem to come to lose to Floyd on purpose. They stand and plod in front of him and pop out a few pop shots which look telegraphed. Maybe Floyd has most of his opponents psyched and they are beaten before the bell rings.

We'll see if Pacquiao does the same thing.

That's nearly as bad as the "Tysons opponents were all scared" routine.

I think Pac has the speed to dart in,unload fast combos, and get out before the counter . FMJ is not gonna trade with Pac only look to counter . I think if Pac can do this and steal a few rounds maybe just maybe he can pull FMJ out of his defensive shell . I think if FMJ comes after Manny we are in for a damn good fight .

I highly recommend people step into the ring to learn more about fighting on the outside and inside. Fighting on the outside requires reach, height, speed, and quick reflexes. Who has Floyd fought who has held those advantages?

If your arm/jab is short, Floyd will out jab you on the outside. If your feet are slow, Floyd can close and move out of range faster. If your reflexes are slow, Floyd can throw quick combos and move out the way. Only person who can maybe outbox Floyd is Lara who has height and reach advantages and is a skilled operator.

Yeah, Floyd is really good at defense but if you forced him to come to you, then you'd probably see a lot of wholes in his game which could be exploited. Why don't his opponents try this? Short answer is that he picks opponents who won't do that. He picks opponents who don't have very good defense, only have one gear and walk forward. Boxers usually have one style they are really good at and they learn to make the most of it rather than mastering a range of styles which might not suit them.

In a way, boxing can be like dancing. The man leads and the woman follows. Floyd always plays the lady, lets his man lead, and is very picky about his dancing partners.

Mayweather's opponents where he use this tactic always lacked stamina in the second half of the fight . Oscar ,Canelo and Cotto all lacked stamina . That is why he has fought only short Welterweight with low workrates or pull guys up two divisions . Guys that have a strong finish have been left out of the mix on purpose.
