DLH was supremely talented and had a lot of exciting fights.
He also happens to be a boxing politician scum bag.

    He is a marketing *****.

He fought for the U.S. in the Olympics.
He didn't do jack to publicize his Mexican heritage until the Ruelas PPV fight. Then suddenly it was the freakin' mariachi festival.
I think a lot of Hispanics took the 2nd Chavez beatdown personally
Again, he is a marketing *****.
He fights for the U.S. in the Olympics.
Now constantly plays up he is Mexican.
Every fight he tries to sell he claims he is from where it is being held. Las Vegas is my 2nd home. He made similar comments in Texas before the Charpentier fight.
He has been quoted as saying he feels Puerto Rican cause of how they have welcomed him and his wife.

    Personally, that's why I can't stand him.

Funny, my co-worker hung out with him, and says nothing but good things about him.

One thing is for sure, DLH was a ladies man, and he made a lot of men angry when he took their women.

He was born in the U.S....He is a Mexican citizen as well, and has helped Mexican charities, as well as American. He does many things good charities and doesn't need public recognition for all of them.

I think he is the boxer who has helped more with charity than anyone else.

there was a q&a with jin mosley on another site and someone asked what she thought of de la hoya....

she said he was one of the nicest guys she's met and that people think he is an ******* because he isn't too good at speaking in public and that he is actually quiet shy.

**** I like him because he has a good story. He went from being in the slums of EAST L.A. to being the most financially succesful fighter ever, owning a multi million dollar business, and helping with charity probably more than any other fighter ever has,.

If he was an Arabic Muslim, he would claim he was Jewish if he thought it would help him sell an extra ticket...

I honestly believe he is evil.
You don't succeed in any business like he has without being an evil human being.
