Why don't Pac and Hatton make it a real "prize" fight?

    if team pac can forge an alternative agreement to fight mayweather instead on May 2, then i prefer pac fighting mayweather rather than hatton. pac can always fight hatton in the future even if he ends up losing to mayweather.

    hatton really needs the pac fight and to win it so he can be in a better bargaining position for a possible rematch w/ mayweather. if hatton asks for a rematch w/ mayweather w/o a pac win, he will certainly just get peanuts. it was 70/30 before. now, it could be 80/20 w/ mayweather getting 50% or more of the UK PPVs this time while still retaining all the US PPVs. that's how weak hatton's current position is vs. mayweather.

    hatton needs pac to get a better deal in a mayweather rematch but pac doesn't need hatton in negotiations for a fight w/ mayweather. a victory for pac against hatton doesn't enhamce his bargaining position at all w/ mayweather since mayweather already KTFO'd hatton.

    I asked this in another thread so I will ask it here as well in hopes of more response:

    How will the talks go between Pac/PBF? DO you think it will be 50/50 or do you think both egos will get in the way as both wanting 60/40 or more?

    if the negotiations of this fight are anything to go by, i can't see that fight happening.

    It makes me laught when Pac fans bang on about all these options he's got claim that Hatton needs Pac more than Pac needs Hatton and then their back up fight if Hatton-Pac falls though is against a retired boxer who has shown very little interest in fighting in the near future. Great option.

    well, there is already corruption in boxing. the winner of a fight causes all kinds of money to change hands already so that is nothing new. not a legit reason not to do this.

    no problem seen. Hatton is willing to go for a few points lower already, the discrepancy is in how many points lower he is willing to go.

    it looks like hatton is willing to go two points lower and pacquiaio is willing to go down to five. that is a three point difference.

    they ought to double that amount to six and fight over it. that way the winner feels like he got something extra rather than what he thought he was already entitled to.

    my quesiton is why why WHY aren't things like this even DISCUSSED???

    all this money to be made and so close to a deal, why not get on with it.

    surely, the only fight either man can make that will be bigger will be Mayweather, and there is a good chance that neither man can make that fight in the short term. so at least one of them, or maybe both of them are going to make LESS money in their next fight, considerably less.

    add to that the risk of LOSING their next fight and blowing a megafight down the line you begin to see what is at stake

    knowing all of this WHY IN THE WORLD don't Arum and Hatton's people talk seriously about this type of deal.

    there has to be a reason. what is it?
