Great post. But Canelo is clearly better than GGG. Forget about head to head just look at their accomplishments. It's not even close.

Not sure why people keep repeating this, Canelo had been the WBC 154 champion for 2 years with 6 defences, as well as the unified WBC/WBA/Ring champion by the time Floyd fought him, inexperience is not an excuse.

And neither is age, because I know I'd rather be young, undefeated and fresh (as Canelo was), rather than a 36 year old former super featherweight and far past my prime (as Floyd was).

I don't really think he has. Regardless I'm not willing to make excuses for a 27 year old with 10 years of high level pro experience.

Both fighters looked better in the first 2 fights than the 3rd. You aren't pre prime if you were better than than you are now.

Who's they? And I thought we were on about Golovkin?

Have you quoted the wrong poster?

I said Canelo wasn't considered preprime because he'd already unified one division been a lineal champ in the MW division and had fought more fights than Golovkin as well as had a longer career than Golovkin.

LOL Canelo wasn't green when he fought Floyd either. 43 fights, JMW champ, 8 year pro. Stop coming up with excuses for this guy. He's a good fighter, maybe an ATG. He doesn't need excuses for being outboxed. It happens when a fighter fights the best on a consistant basis.

ROFLMAO Joey Don't try that one. He stood in the ring after beating Khan threatening GGG he'd put the gloves back on & beat him there & then at 160 cause he was WBC Middleweight Champ BU*T when ordered to do so claimed he really wasn't a middleweight at all & handed the bogus belt back like a wussie.
    Now THAT is a Coward

other than stamina in some fights I see no improvement. I think fighting lower competition made him believe they hype himself and he now goes for one punch at a time instead of combos.
