Your thread is ok but there are some holes in it...Mosley would give Floyd more problems than Cotto for 1..Cotto may give Floyd more problems as well but its a business and Pacquio does more buys and will be a bigger money fight..on top of that Pac is considered the best in the world so theres nothing wrong with fighting the best in the world..

i'm sure there are a ton of people in the boxing world who would love to see it, but cotto doesn't bring in enough dough/viewers. there are other fighters who deserve the shot more than cotto at the moment unfortunately.

Shane has the best chance IMO.
Cotto also has a good chance if Floyd isn't @ his best but most likely floyd fights smart to a UD using his speed/footwork.

I just feel like Cotto is the sturdiest of the fighters that "Money May" could fight. I think he would test Maywethers metal with a body attack that no one else would. I feel Mosley has a good shot to beat him too, but in the Cotto-Mosley fight, Cotto actually looked quicker than Shane, so how fast would Floyd look?! I think Shane is great, but lets remember no matter how good he looked against Margarito, he didn't just get young overnight!

When exactly has Cotto ever "cherry picked?"

Michael Jennings and Alfonso Gomez were two guys who were clearly cherry picked opponents. They were hand picked set-ups who served to make Cotto look good.

I was asked when Cotto ever cherry picked and I picked two clear cut examples of cherry picked Cotto opponents. His fights with Margo and Mosley do not change that Jennings and Gomez were cherry picked.

Because PBF would school him? Cotto could not even beat the plodding Margarito.

Gomez was nothing more than a tune up bout for Cotto after facing four consecutive fighters ranked in Ring Magazine's Top 10. Cotto fought Quintana, Judah, Urkal (his mandatory), and Mosley back to back, yet you criticize him for taking a lesser fight, before heading into another bout against a bigger name opponent.

Jennings, on the other hand, was a fighter who Cotto didn't even want to fight. Cotto was forced into taking that fight by Top Rank, or else he would have remained inactive until this summer. You're well aware of that because you were one of the posters here stating you admired Cotto for wanting to fight a bigger named opponent, instead of Jennings, who Top Rank was forcing upon him. Now you're making it seem as if Cotto targeted Jennings since he was easy pickins, and a quick way to a title, when you know that's not the case.

If Cotto was a cherry picker, I doubt he would have fought Mosley or Marg. I also doubt he would be slated to fight Clottey next.
