I hear you. But in an indirect way, we agree. Because if Usyk has a 'glass body', then Fury definitely has a 'glass chin'. But if we are going along with the idea that unless something is causing losses for a fighter, that particular thing can't be seen as a weakness, then Usyk definitely has no 'glass body'. Not only has he not lost a fight due to body punches, but he has also barely been hurt by them compared to how many times Fury was hurt by headshots. That's indeed why I opened this thread—if there's talk about Usyk's 'glass chin', then there definitely should be talk about Fury's glass chin, and vice versa. You can't have one without the other.
I haven't made any comment about Usyk having a glass body. That's a strawman. I've only responded to your assertions that Fury has a glass chin which i wholeheartedly disagree with. You can try and disassociate chin from recuperation but at the end of the day it's one and the same really - durability. Realistically is Fury hasn't become shot or close to it there should be very very very little chance of a regulation stoppage.
I agree that Fury hasn't got the best chin and can also suffer from clumsy balance problems if people punch at mid range with him. What Fury does have is excellent recovery powers and an innate ability to dig deep when hes up against it. If Usyk fights his fight, at mid range against Fury, I think theres every chance he may knock Fury down or even stop him late. I dont think Fury is gonna let Usyk fight his fight though.
I didn’t mean you personally, as you indeed didn’t claim Usyk had a glass body. My apologies if my post was ambiguous in this respect. However, there is pretty much a consensus within the general boxing establishment that Usyk has this 'glass body,' but for some reason, Fury's chin is only discussed on online platforms, if at all, even though we have much more evidence for it than for Usyk’s alleged weakness to body punches. As for beating Fury by regulation stoppage, I assume you mean you see little chance for anyone to knock him down and keep him there. I respectfully disagree. George Foreman had an amazing chin and recovery powers. Even though he faced monster punchers like Morrison, Lyle, Briggs, and Cooney, and was even knocked down by Lyle and Young only to get up and win on both occasions (he not only beat Lyle but stopped him after getting up from the canvas), the only time he was ever stopped in 81 professional fights was when he faced Ali who, by his own admission, was not a big puncher at all. The accumulation of punishment and superior stamina can finish absolutely everyone; even the greatest chin and the greatest recovery powers won’t save you if your opponent tires you out by outmoving and outlanding you. That’s why I always believed that Usyk would be Fury’s worst nightmare and toughest fight of his life by a mile. Wilder has zero skills and movement. Fury has superior skills, feet, and stamina, and these attributes will always beat a one-trick pony. But Usyk can do to Fury what Ali did to Foreman, one hundred percent.
people always say things about guys they don't like. Adonis Stevenson everyone said had a glass jaw. he was knocked down 3 times in his career I believed. and one of them was from an entire round of eating flush shots from gvozdyk. I dont think fury or stevenson had a bad chin at all. The people I can think when I think of glass jaws are Amir Khan and Tommy Morrison. I'd say probably james kirkland too. Furys been down a lot but most of them were flush big shots. I'd argue Fury has a regular chin his technique is a little over rated.
wtf are you talking about? the haters talk non-stop about it, lol. close the topic, its getting old. we get it, just move on.
