Why don't team Haye just contact K2?

The simplicity of it may sound naive.

But if he really wants the fight so bad, why doesn't Haye/Booth literally phone Bernd Boente/Vitali? I'm sure they have some sort of contact number from previous negotiations. It beats constantly looking desperate in the press/youtube.

Call him and ask for a straight answer, David? :good

Vitali: "please leave a message after the tone" *beep*

if he really wants the fight so badly, he would of beaten at least 2 top HW's since last Feb when Vitali beat Chisora, to earn a WBC mandatory and more money from the fight

Which 2 top HWs has Charr beaten?

What about Wach or Mormeck or Pianeta?

It's depressing that Haye won't try and fight his way into a mandatory position and gain some real leverage. No doubt he could enter the WBC or IBF eliminator tournaments and be heavily favored to win.

He's just wasting the late prime of his career, at the moment. (Although he did want to retire early.)

Right so apparently Charr and Sosnowski dont have to beat anyone of any note to get a fight yet Haye has to beat a couple of contenders despite being a consensus top 3 fighter in the division and easily Vitali's biggest challenge since his comeback. It would be a shame for Vitali to retire with his tail between his legs.

Because he doesn't want to appear desperate, even though he is.

Haye wants to put public pressure on Vitali, so Vitali feels that HE needs the fight, and thus will offer Haye more money.

But Haye is a ****, so I sure hope it backfires. Let him go back to the jungle.

Agreed. Unless Haye goes the hard route like Charr, Mormeck, Sosnowski, Briggs and so forth, he should refrain from bothering K2.

Charr was a voluntary, he agreed to something around 400K euro, doubt the "Mayweather of Europe" would agree to that

all of them were volountary defenses, none of them made more than half a million from the fight, if David beat Arreola Stiverne or even Banks in the US, and did it in style, Vitali would sooner or later HAVE to fight him, without a belt and a memory of his performance against Wlado, David has no bargaining power

He'd rather mince about on I'm a Celebrity than take a meaningful fight.
