Its comfortably the best fight that can be made in the division, generating loads of money for Vitali's impending retirement. it really shouldnt be something Haye has to force Vitali into.

I said in a different thread that it's the obvious fight to make, yet the anti-Haye brigade on here really don't want it.

They come up with the usual excuses like not wanting to give Haye a payday (like anyone actually gives a ****), that he doesn't deserve a title shot (none of Vitali's opponents do) or that he performed poorly against Wlad (has no bearing on a Vitali fight).

The real reason is one they won't ever admit, the thing that deep down eats away at them every time they type the word "toe" - it's the fact that Haye could beat Vitali, he could stop him in dramatic style. The anti-Haye lot on here absolutely detest that yet know it's a very real possibility, that's why they don't want the fight.

They don't want the fight because they know Haye is perfectly capable of winning it.

Haye was always a low risk high reward man.
The only reason he fought Chisora was because he knew Chisora wasn't fresh after 3 fights with top guys.

He chose to fight the weakest champion of all time in the nearly talentless Valuev. Then he fought a journeyman (who dropped Haye)
he fought an old Ruiz and a scared to be hit Audley Harrison.

Technically that IS true. Klitschko's manager Burt Bondy or whatever his name is said "Haye fights Dereck and the winner gets Vitali"

    Not really.

He fought Chisora because it was big money fight that could get him Vitali. Wasn't fresh? He's a ****ing professional athlete, if he isn't fresh at the age of 28 after a few months rest and a good training camp then he never was or will be. Chisora had just beaten Helenius and pushed Vitali futher than anyone has in years, not exactly a low risk guy but definitely a high reward.

He fought Valuev to get the WBA belt so he could get an even split with whichever Klitschko brother he would end up facing. It was a route to a big title fight where he was guaranteed a decent deal and a fairer contract with no silly options. Basically it gave him something the brothers wanted so they had to compromise. A very smart move even though it did tie him to Sauerland.

Ruiz was his mandatory who stepped aside in order for Haye to face Valuev. Nobody can complain about a mandatory defence, apart from people who need to look the word "mandatory" up in a dictionary.

Harrison was an optional defence which gave him the best payday whilst still being in the frame for a unification bout.

Out of those the only low risk / high reward was Audley. Not exactly a great run but comparable to Vitali and Wladimir. It aint the 90s anymore.

In all fairness Vitali's manager did say if Haye beat Chisora he will get a fight with Vitali. Haye's fight with Chisora was the best heavyweight fight I've watched in years. I really wish Haye would get back to boxing. I don't see Vitali fighting him at this point.

I don't understand why people want to see Haye on the big stage again. He put up such a horrible display against Wlad.

He's lucky he wasn't in the ring with Vitali that night. Vitali would have stepped up and KTFO him.

I actually want to see this fight happen, just to see the excuses Haye fans will come up with when he throws 9 punches a round and gets shut out by big brother Vitali, because Haye's attempts of getting this fight via YT videos borders with desperation

This would be a good idea if Vitali would have been quiet after Wlad won!!!!!!

But Vitali said, I will knock David Haye out and I want to fight him which was very bad behavior against Wladimir.

After Haye won by KO against Chisora Vitali is quiet and uses a tone of excuses not to fight Haye yet.

    This is ducking.

Not exactly. People don't want the fight because Haye would have a decent chance, but ONLY because Vitali is clearly past it at this point.

If Haye were to win, not on merit but because too much time has past, I might seriously have to stop being a boxing fan. - At least until Haye finally retires and goes someplace where he won't bother us ever again. (Like the seventh rung of hell.)

Haye is about as active as Larry Holmes. No way does he deserve a fight. I hope Vitali fights him and beats him up however, just to shut his ****ing fans up.
