Why don't they hold many outdoor boxing matches anymore?

america is where this would bring back the fans
f uck the casinos of vegas
all the undercard is in front of 20 fans and the cameras
the fights are dead of any atmosphere .

america has how many 25000 plus sradiums in which boxing could take place

it even has many different climates so all year round is possible

i had a debate with someone on here the other day who was bigging up the fact that las vegas venues rob fans blind with there outrageous ticket prices as the reason boxing should be held there.

price boxing correctly /bring it back to the fans and the intrest will grow again.

also don't want someone dropping into the ring mid round, with a small engine driven glider.

America has a lot of stadiums covered in case of rain.....................even when an outdoor ring is covered, the rain still blows into the ring causing a lot of slipping.............

Haye-Chisora was outside. Haye was gassing and only won because they stopped a round about a minute early, and then shortly after doofus blundered face first into a huge punch.

I remember when Roberto Duran fought Esteban de Jesus in 101 degree heat, a 15 round fight, Duran was like the devil himself, one body punch picked De Jesus off the canvas! Inside they can control the heat as well as keep the sun and rain out............

Zika virus. Would you wanna be outside, shirtless and exposed, quite possibly with open cuts?

You're right he only won because he brutally KO'd his opponent

    The Fan Man.

He was later found dead in a desert highway.

But as far as the TS's question, I guess that those ringside seat buyers that pay thousands, feel that they get their money's worth if they're in a closed arena, rather than an open one where few oustsiders can view.

Temperature control is probably the main reason.

In the summer, when there's a heatwave at night, you're way better off in a closed arena with AC, rather than sweating outside on a warm night.

and if its too cold, outside is not good either. Remember Sugar Ray Leonard fighting Duran (3rd time) in Dec. 1989, on an outdoor arena, SRL was cold that he had to be covered with blankets inbetween rounds.

Haven't most of Wilders fights been outdoors ? - in an alley way, car park or someone's backyard

I doubt that many boxers not named Floyd could come close to selling out stadiums that hold more than 25,000.
