Why don't they just cut out the middleman?

Why don't Pacquiao and Mayweather just have a meeting with eachother without any of these scumbags and discuss the fight, what agreements they personally come to and air it? Obviously it won't guarantee the fight will be signed but at least we know where we are on the matters. Both obviously want to fight eachother and they're not able to because they're not in charge.

    Well, Floyd is at least.

Pac's Uncle Bob won't let him, plus Pac doesn't want it

Because they're tied to these middlemen. Be it by contracts, verbal agreements, promises, etc. If they could all be rid of at the drop of a hat, Pac and May would have done it by now.

Floyd is the only one that can, but won't.

I get that they have contracts but I mean why can't Floyd/Pac have a meeting between them to discuss it, or do the promoters have to babysit them or something?

Floyd doesn't have a promoter middleman, Pac does.

Language barrier, culture barrier, two completely different personalities...

I don't think locking the two in the room would necessarily be any more productive than what has been dragging on for years now.

If anything, the fight everybody's been holding their breath for would happen for an audience of zero with no cameras running and without official sanctioning (or gloves, or a ring or any of that fine stuff) and be utterly wasted.

..and whoever lost (and I have a pretty good feeling who would lose the fistfight as well as the boxing match ;)) would forevermore duck a legitimate organized rematch with the guy who'd beaten his azz. Any chance of it happening before would have fizzled out when the fists (and maybe chairs) started flying.

Mayweather's middle man is Al Haymon, contract negotiations go through him.
