Why don't Tyson and Holyfield take Lewis Seriously

I certainly won't argue any of these points, cause I'm in 100% agreement with you. But it's gonna bring Savak to tears, I don't think he can handle the truth being spelled with so much clarity.

Im a Tyson fan but have a huge amount of respect for Lewis, he pretty much did everything you could ask from a fighter.

But i find it hypocritical when some of the logic applied to one guy isnt always applied to another.

"Lewis beat a load of good fighters like Tucker, Biggs, Bruno, Botha, Golota and Ruddock"

"Tyson beat a load of bums" (like Tucker, Biggs, Bruno, Botha, Golota and Ruddock.)

"Tysons biggest wins are a 37 year old Holmes and a former LHW Spinks"

Yet one of Lewis best wins is Holyfield (A 37 year old former CW)"

I think it goes both ways. Apparently the version of Ruddock that Lewis fought was shot. But in general I agree with you, I think they both are great fighters and worthy of respect, rather than constant maligning that they both get.

All I try doing once in awhile is to challenge the glass jaw myth of Lewis and the supposedly illegitimate win against Vitali.

But I have also challenged those who have said Tyson never had heart, because that too is a myth.

No one takes the amount of punishment he did in the Douglas and Lewis fights, without having heart.

Ruddock wasnt shot, but he definitely had something taken out of him in the two Tyson fights. Remember Tyson hit Ruddock with more powershots and bodyshots than he has to anyone else in his career, now physically that cant have benefited Ruddock.

To me Lewis/Tyson more than any others, are two sides of the same coin. Its just that Lewis completed his mission and Tyson self destructed.

Lewis ****ed Vitali up, plain and simple. I dont think his chin was bad, just like i dont think Morrisons chin was all that bad despite the Bennt loss, sometimes a fighter can lose concentraion for a quick second and thats all it takes.

Compare Tyson and Tua. Tua gets hit and goes into a shell. One of the major reasons why Tua was never knocked out was because most of his opponents found it so much easier to just outbox the guy because his boxing skills were non-existent and he was just happy to plod along. Tyson on the other hand fought ***** to the wall in nearly every fight (until Williams/Mcbride), the only way you were beating Tyson was by stopping him, otherwise he would just keep coming, looking for that KO punch.

People forget or simply dont know (those who havent boxed) that Tyson fought as the aggressor against both Douglas and Holyfield and stood toe to toe with Lewis (or at least tried to). You simply cannot be the aggressor and be a 'runner' at the same time in a fight. Lewis put a boxing clinic on Tua, Tyson was a whole different ballgame, Lewis had to fight more aggressively against Tyson because Tyson wasnt a guy you can just jab away. In fact Tyson outjabbed Holyfield and Lewis (when he could be bothered to)

This is what i have been highlighting all along, the double standards for Tyson vis a vis Lewis.

I never disputed most of these things. I added additional facts that is Holyfield and Tyson were shot when he fought them. The Vitali victory was controversial but it intrigues me when you go out of the way to justify Lewi's post match interview, behavior, comments and why Vitali didn't deserve a rematch and then make unnecessary cheap shots at Vitali to defend your beloved.

Well it's not often we have a Kumbaya moment on this forum.

Poor misunderstood Savak, I had no idea that all those derogatory comments against Lewis were merely a very poor attempt to bolster Tyson.

I love Lewis post vitali fight comments. Almost Tyson-esque.

'Ill eat him and his brother for lunch'

Whatever Lewis said after the fight, has no bearing on the result of the fight itself.

Could he have been a little more pleasant and given Vitali more props? the answer is certainly he could have. As far as cheap shot's go I've never made any cheap shots against Vitali whatsoever.

I've merely comments on your assine assertion that Lewis has a glass jaw by saying if it is so bad, then why couldn't the likes of Tyson and Vitali crack it?

Didnt Vitali kick Lewis when Lewis offered to hel him up?

Plus Vitalis post fight 'celebrations' were a bit sour.

Trying to act like a badass after just being stopped.

A champion and someone with no insecurity issues would never resort "What do you want me to say Larry, you don't know what your talking about Larry, Look at what i did to his face e.t.c." It sounded and looked so sore looserish. Definately destroyed any respect i had for him.

    Yup to all of that.

There's a lot of adrenaline still going through a fighter right after a match, and part of that adrenaline is used to condition yourself that at that moment your unbeatable. If you don't believe that while your fighting, you're in big trouble before the fight even starts.

When did this happen? I don't recall any kick from Vitali?

He was getting cheered by the crowd, you have to understand it was the biggest fight of his life and his claim to fame. Who wouldn't want to bask at that moment of glory.

But Merchant has a way of ****ing people off.

Didnt Merchant try to hint that Lewis had got lucky?

Also i dont believe its insecurities, if i just carved someones face in and some guy comes upto me and tells me i got lucky, id behave like a ****ing **** as well.

Just like those Pac****s who claim Mayweather only won because Pacqiauos shoulder was hurting.

I think Azzer85 responded to this very well. BOTH fighters could have been more civil to each other, but I think at those moments in time right after a fight the adrenaline is still actively flowing.
