Bas in his peak would fit in well today. How has he not kept up? He learned grappling with one of the greatest grapplers of all time and was known for brutal stand-up!

    What is he missing?

I obviously meant Bas at 205, if he was around today.

Well may as well close this thread now :thumbsup

Bas is by far one of the if not THE most knowledgeable guy in Mixed Martial Arts as a former fighter. He's been training fighters for decades and had a storied career himself. I just cant believe some of the ludicrous assertions in this thread about his credentials.
You got guys questioning his ability on the basis of Kimbo and then dont mention Mark Kerr? Short memorys people.

Bas spent the majority of his career in Pancrase and he wasn't even a grappler! He started off with TKD Kick boxing and Karate which he excelled at.
Bas was a TRUE Mixed Martial Artist.

Always nice when we can agree on something. Bas was indeed THE MAN and the premiere mixed martial artist. Did you watch that interview with Rogan yet? Epic stuff.:good
