Why don't you "boxing" fans just say it? You will always hate Floyd no matter

There's a difference. I used to be a big fan of Floyd before he started making fights no one really wanted to see. It would be understandable if he were in a weak division, like the heavyweights, but he's not. He continuously makes the fight that the public is disinterested in. Who really wanted to see Floyd fight JMM. Obvoiusly people bought the PPV, but it didn't really do anything for the landscape of boxing. Most of his fights don't.

This is why Manny captures the imagination of the casual fan. He fights the more appropriate opponents while Floyd doesn't. Floyd's best attempt at this was when he fought DLH and Hatton and he won fighter of the year honors for it. Why doesn't he continue the trend?

It's not a often...but the haters of PAC are definitly as if not more extreme than Floyd haters. Floyd just has more hates but it's due to his personality which he CHOOSES to portray. He can't be made that he has more hate if he's the one dousing the flame with liter fluid.

For 12 million. Can you count? Do you not see why the choice was made?

That at least is a respectable stance.

First off, thank you for your feedback on my opinions. I respect your position on the matter that color will always play the most important role no matter what but I continue saying that
    This content is protected
, it's the attitude factor that plays the biggest role, whether we like it or not. There are many examples to pick from through time when black people have made it on the sports scene as well as being socially accepted and respected by playing the role wished upon by the establishment. Just a few examples are already listed in the thread...

I will firmly admit that if you have a white guy and a black playing the same roles on the sports scene, with the same credentials, the white guy will always be favored by the establishment !

With that being said, it takes nothing away from the black guy's possibility of acquiring such a status on his own.

The establishment creation is a bull**** superficial illusion but it's a matter of kissing ass unfortunately !

Like I also said previously, if there's a white guy acting just like Mayweather, it will backfire in his face also...GUARANTEED BRO !!!!

First off I apologize for getting carried away !

In regards to your post... we can always find reasons to legitimize our views but I will stand my ground with the informations I have put out this far on this thread.

The reasons you gave can make sense but bottom line, they suit your opinion and most importantly protect the underlying reason of why you feel the way you do...which doesn't seem objective at all.

I do understand how you feel though...I don't blame you for feeling that way, I just think you and others are drifting away from what really matters most as to why FMJ is treated the way he is..That's all !!

I can agree with what you are saying, but the problem is this. Which role is society/media desiring and rewarding the person to play. This is the fundamental "subtle" prodding that puts people like Mayweather into this position. For the black athlete the media desires and rewards him to play the heel.

Mayweather sat being the "do work" guy for years. Nobody cared who he was. He couldn't sell a fight. Call Gatti a C class fighter? Now the media cares. This is just par for the course.

The white or in minority dominated sports "whiter" athlete doesn't have to go to the extremes of personality to get the media recognition. Media recognition parleys into economic opportunity. So yeah, a white guy might be hated, but he never has to go that route because the media bends over backwards to keep him on the front page as a media darling no matter how boring he is.

Boxing is just the last of the non PC sports. MMA is even more equitable in this respect. Then again look who are the power players in MMA. They are the under 40 crowd. Half the guys running boxing were born pre-civil rights. Racism, nationalism, "stylism", it is all fair game, but that is what makes boxing so damn fun to watch and discuss. The last bastion of raw unchecked emotion!

I used to hate Mayweather with a passion but I've grown to appreciate him more of late. I'm still no fan as such but I'd pick him to beat Pac clearly.

I know what you mean...but...when you say before the Gatti trash talking FMJ was doing the right thing and he wasn't getting his dues, I just think that it's not cause he's black !

I agree that it will take less time for a white dude to make a favorable impression on the establishment but..''making the impression'' is attainable for anyone of any color as long as they play along the guide lines !!

Why is a Phillipino humble, nice guy that barely speaks proper English now making it in the States ?? He had to wait a loooooong time to also get his dues from the casual fans and main stream medias, but he now gets it !!

Black, Phillipino, latino, Indian, etc.. are making it in sports on equal standards.

If Mayweather would have taken the Pacquiao route, he would have had the same result down the road but the man was practically claiming he was the reincarnation of Christ from the moment he was at 130 lbs...... He had no patience for waiting his turn to make it Huuuuuuge on the scene cause he had a HUUUGE EGO !!!!

Of course the bad guy image sells...we all know that but down the road it's never as gratifying as taking the good guy image, we should already all know that from history repeating itself !!
