Your a hater....face it.....its only post 2007 that Mundine failed to step up after beating green and soloman he then faced argies, then hamden, taylor, Kim and Sam again. He fought Kessler in 2005.....you have been exposed :deal
Yeah, never gives his opponents credit... Ottke - I had a cold, it was a lucky punch, I didn't have a sparring partner, I forgot to take my vitamins to Germany with me. Echolls - I fought with a broken rib man! 9even though he won) Siaca - I sprained my ankle in training - interestingly, he announced this fact a couple of weeks before the fight and conveniently had video footage of himself 'slipping over' in the corner of the ring. Kessler - crickets chirping - the only opponent who's beaten him that he hasn't said boo about, although he did call Kessler out for a rematch for 2 years until he became his mandatory and them slid down to MW to avoid him. There's been more too :yep
I suspect you're trying to get a rise out of me, because surely even you have to concede that his fights, apart from Ottke, Echols, Siaca, Kessler, Green, Soliman II and Geale have been against shite opposition. And lets take a look at those fights I named: Ottke - the lightest-hitting SMW champ ever, cleaned KO'd Mundine Echols - shot MW who won the MW title after dodgy ref stoppage, did nothing worthwhile since. Siaca - not exactly a worldbeater. Kessler - intimidated Mudnien from pillar to post, so much so that a combined total of approximately 5 minutes of activity from Mundine over 12 rounds seems to mean the world to his nuthuggers. Green - beat Green convincingly, I'll pay that, but I've always thought Green looked emaciated that night and his mind wasn't on the job. Soliman II - good KO win for Mundine, but a 3rd fight wasn't necessary. Geale - got the fright of his life and has indicated many times since that he more than likely won't give Geale the rematch. What a hero!!!
World class to me is the top 5 in each division over a circa 2 year peroid. Mundine went very well against Kessler but did get beaten by 4 rounds on my nut hugging books. Mundine is world class in SWM because the RING had him at number 4?...I think or maybe 3 :huh Also Kessler KTFO of a long list of champs and contenders like Beyer, Lucas, Siaca, Green, Thesse, Sartison, Hassler and the list goes on. So to answer your question Mundine is the only guy to see the end of the 12th against Kessler over the last 7 years beside Andrade who lost every round.
..yeah and JC....that was a great fight....I thought Kess had it won half way through 3 smashing Joe with some great upper cuts....then Joe just just changes tact, worked smarter and won.
Yeah same he seems to be able to adapt during a fight even after knockdowns he adapts to the situation.hard to work out a strategy to beat joe he has many tricks up his sleeve.thats why he has 0 losses.
Hang on sunshine. I didn't mention "Rich", & I didn't call him a brat . I said he behaved like one. I'm not disputing he is "Self made", but being an extraordinary athlete with a famous name & a Gordon Gecko promotional pilot helps a bit. :hi:
its pretty sick to see so called 'devout muslims' loving money so much. also, boxing is 'haram'...or 'unclean' for true muslims. here;
Not too sure if you were around here before Ash, but I used to support Mundine. Sure his arrogance and vain personality irked me, but I still wanted him to succeed. I don't really know what I put it down to, perhaps it was because I wanted to see a league convert do well. My support for him has waned over the years, and it's at the stage now where I would just about support anyone else who he fought. Partly it's due to him not stepping up, partly it's because he's taking everyone for a ride, but the main reason is because the guy is so anti-Australian. The Australian anthem makes the guy sick, and it's sad that a prolific guy such as Mundine doesn't do his bit to promote reconciliation, instead he promotes separatism. Yep, I'm not even one of those fans who will wait and support him when he steps up simply because he's an Aussie, because there's way too much un-Australian about him, and he's rather comfortable holding that tag. Theres my 2 cents.
