What happened? Ever since the canelo 2 fight he dosent talk about Mexican style anymore? Does he feel bad that he was walked down by the smaller man ? When did "Mr Mexican Style " turn into triple jab? Let me know your thoughts. P.S. also why dosent golovkin speak English anymore did canelo leave him punch drunk ?
Because he got Mexican Style'd. It was a marketing ploy to get Mexicans to increase his ratings and eventually fight Canelo. Look at how much this forum ate it up, had grown ass men repeating it with a stiffie in their shorts.
If you're going to fight Mexican style you need to work the body. Failed to do that twice. GGG = fake Mexican style
To be fair, how else was a 30 year old immigrant from a country most people here can't spell supposed to land a fight with the biggest active draw in the game? Maybe if Duva had thought of some better schtick, Kovalev wouldn't be fighting for fist bumps and Lunchables
It was used in an attempt to gather a fanbase of 'Mexican heritage' in Murica because this was a more lucrative market than the handful of Khazaks. I guess the particular demo they targeted wasn't so accepting of foreigners, which is strange! It was probably Sanchez and Loeffler who came up with the idea, believing Sanchez's role could help sell the 'product'. Golovkin's more conservative 'non Mexican' approach was always there and utilised when an opponent was considered more dangerous and able to punish recklessness. If you'd like to see that appearing long before the second Canelo fight, try watching his fights with Stevens or Lemi. These are fighters in the middleweight division that Golovkin fought. 'Lemi' is an abbreviated form used to save time and also a 'nickname', i.e. it's not his actual name. So don't search with those terms. See if you can discover the full name of this fighter. Anyway, you'll find while watching those fights that your whole argument falls to pieces around you and a period of self reflection will follow, whereby you will feel like a complete and utter fool.
Because he only applied that style against fighter who were of no threat.. As soon as his opposition got better he pretty much jabbed and boxed accordingly.. He definitely wasn't willing to get in a firefight against Lemeuix and after he knew Danny wasn't gonna be an easy KO like initially thought he fought accordingly..
He has moved on, but rumor has it that he still has a small tattoo of Emiliano Zapata on his left butt cheek.
