You can make a case that Lara won, but at the same time Canelo fought well enough to win. Calling it a robbery though, that's a step too far. It was a close fight with very contrasting styles, that could legitimately be scored either way, depending on what style you prefer.

This was a clear Lara win. People who say Lara just run dont understand what clean punching is.

Lara was landing straights all night. Not just in one round. All fight and they were snappy ones too. Yes Canelo was lanzing body shots but for a lot of the fight Canelo was plodding a long looping hooks to air, Laras hips, elbows and arms. That's not clean punching

Have you actually scored this fight or not?

Who cares, Lara got whooped by Carlos Molina and was gifted a draw. Him losing to Canelo was simply a redo.

Although Lara has legitimate complaints about the Paul Williams fight

Lara wishes he beat Canelo, while circling around evading the whole time while Canelo continued to pressure him throughout the fight especially in the last few rounds,

Wasn't even that close unless you ask the people who carry a certain wishful agenda.

Also compubox numbers are wildly inaccurate to the point of basically being fabrications much of the time.

Try All the time, remembering the days of HBO where Cotto landed a 2 piece combo on Mosley & instead the punch count went up for Shane, ridiculousness,

Oh forgot to mention all the PBC cards that have live Compubox where they went up for the fighter who blocked the other's with his guard using his gloves & then further didn't go up when he lands one clean punch, crazy.

this is the pros. the impact of the punches being landed, and how they shape the fight, counts. youre no longer playing tag. you have to be effective in what you are doing. not just land a glove.

it's amazing that after so many years in this forum the OP still talks about "punches landed" to score a pro fight.

Ridiculous. There are people who never learn. No matter what. They never learn, they just cant.

Just to add on this, a good example is Canelo GGG 1 Rounds 8 and 9. GGG was winning these rounds, outlanding his opponent, but Canelo landed 1 big shot in each of these rounds. Now that big shot didn't swing the round for me, but it definitely made it a round that would have been clear for GGG not clear anymore. But to illustrate the point about 1 big shot vs 2 big shots and why that's important in scoring rounds, only the 1 big shot in a round like 8 or 9 wasn't enough for me to swing the round. Part of why that was GGG's reaction to it. A lesser fighter may have stumbled or became wobbly from those punches, but not GGG. GGG kept a poker face enough to still win the round, and I do think "chin" and how well you take a shot can negate effectiveness, so that has to go into the equation. However if Canelo had landed another one of those kind of shots in Round 8 or 9 then another one of those may have been enough to swing the round. On the other hand, Round 7 (compared to 8 and 9) GGG won more decisively, due to how hard and clean he was landing the jab. So in Round 7, even though he landed a big shot in that round as well, in that round it would take more big shots to swing the round, maybe even 2 of Canelo's big shots (in round 7) wouldn't be enough due to how well GGG was landing the jab. But 2 big shots might have been enough in Rounds 8 and 9 because Canelo was slipping more shots, GGG wasn't landing as well in 8 and 9 than he was in 7. So in 7 it would take more big shots to swing it due to how much more effective GGG was in that round.

All I have to do is look at Canelo face after the fight. He knew he lost. That’s that
Lara was in full control from the start to finish of the fight.

thought lara won the night of, but scored it in the last 2 yrs or so and had it a draw. too boring of a fight for me to watch a third time to vet that score
