Why exactly did Ward target Brand again?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Son Of Goosen, Aug 8, 2016.

  1. He tried to make this fight happen on the Cotto Canyellow under but it got rejected. He then goes after Brand for a second time. Brand not being a LHW makes no sense to chase after?

A- Ward could get away with paying him peanuts ?

B- Ward thought he could drag up a smaller man and score a statement KO?

I'm still wondering why he had a hard on for this guy of all people ?

Probably a combination of a lot of factors, including wanting a durable guy to fine tune things via 12 round beating.

Hey, instead of just popping in and saying stupid **** all the time, why don't you try adding to the discussion with rational thought?? Why did Ward target Brand twice? What's the deal?

Read this. Andre is a joke.

Here’s the recollection of the 34-year-old Monaghan, on how he went from pumped to deflated, over the span of a couple rollercoaster days.

“Basically Roc Nation (Sports, promoter of Ward) asked Top Rank, would I be interested to fight (Ward) in his hometown on short notice. I instantly said yes. I found out the next day that they were offering half of what Sullivan Barrera got to fight Ward in his last fight, which I didn’t feel was a great offer, being that I’m 27-0 and Barrera was 17-0. They said it was a final offer, so I accepted. Then (Roc Nation) asked what kind of gloves I wanted to wear. I said I really don’t care; I guess Everlast because that’s what I always wear. They said no to that. Then they said all sponsors I wanted had to be OK’ed by them. We agreed on that.”

The tale of woe continues, “

It basically was unacceptable; the money sucked and they never negotiated anything.”

  12. That tends to happen when a dose of reality and truth slaps you across the face.

WTF is the deal with this Ward guy? Am I out of line to assume he feels he is the only person in the world who matters?

To end his deal with HBO... after he beats Kovalev azz they will need to either re-sign SOG but it's gonna be a "Fugg U pay me, type contract"

Because there was a chance he'd lose to any other actual Light Heavyweight. The sheer size and power of guys like Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Shabranskyy, Gonzalez and even someone like Fonfara or Cleverly could potentially pose huge problems for him, and derail the match against the Krusher.
