Why exactly is Rashad Evans getting a title shot anyway? He doesn't deserve it.

rashad is more than deserving, he beat silva, and rampage 2 top 5 light heavyweights
now if you are talking about lay n prayers, getting title shots, llok at welterweight jake shields, and light weight gray maynard
but jon jones is already a 5-1 favorite over rashad evans

He's a former champion who beat two top ten contenders since losing the title. Can see who's more deserving. I think he will get iced, but still.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were setting up Jones as Rashad as TUF coaches.

I can't see it. The TUF coaches' fight needs to have some intrigue to get people to watch the show. Jones-Evans is about as foregone a conclusion as you could ever get. I remember a distinct lack of drama/interest in the coaches' fight in season 5 when everyone knew that BJ Penn was going to beat the dog**** out of Jens Pulver.

    Sooo ?

Never said boxing is perfect, but at least there is some kind of ranking.

In the UFC it's 100% subjective and can be changed without any warning... !

And who ****in cares if DW promised him a title shot, the number of time he didn't stick to his word is astonishing.

Better fight can be made without ****in Rashad !

Rashad beat Rampage and Thiago Silva to get his shot. He deserves it more than Jones did - who managed to never fight a real top contender prior to his title shot.

I just don't see how anyone can justify putting Machida in ahead of Rashad from the UFC point of view when Lyoto has lost two in a row.

Rampage has a win over Lyoto but lost to Evans, so Evans should be ahead of him.

Can't see who else can really be mentioned.

Why not wait for the end of UFC 129 and pick between the winner of Machida/Couture ?

Woudn't be the first time **** like that happen !

Or Rampage if he wins is next fight.

But no, let Rashad fight Jones, it will be funny to see him get KTFO once more !

Machida is coming off TWO LOSES, one of which was an absolute annihiliation

Couture last year faced Mark Coleman and James Toney.

Rampage lost to Evans, and even if he wins in May he would only have as many victories as Evans. And they would be worse victories at that - Hamill isn't as dangerous as Thiago and his victory over Machida was nowhere near as decesive as Evans' over him.

    Anyone else?

When are people going to stop pretending Machida lost to Rampage. Rampage barely landed anything the entire fight, and was close to getting KTFO in the last round. It was a clear, clear win for Lyoto.

Oh, and by the way: Machida KO2 Evans.

Machida KTFO Evans and Silva though, then robbed by Rampage.

Machida is far more deserving than Evans IF he beats Couture (which he will).

And then the Davis-L'il Nog winner (I expect Davis) should be next in line.

When Rashad stops mummifying opponents to protect his china chin, then he can be considered a contender again.
