I don't think Cotto was too green. Bob Arum didn't want him to fight Cotto because he thought Cotto was too green. He was going to build Cotto up.

You answered your question right there. It was a smart move by Floyd. Cotto and Margo gave hell to every opponent they fought back in their primes. Floyd didn't want a tough fight like that, and by letting them fight the other top fighters and each other he knew he'd get credit for the mythical win over them whenever they lost. He's doing the same with Pac.

He takes risks like all the elites do. It's boxing. He fought Sugar Shane, who nearly had him out on his feet He fought a game and undefeated Ricky Hatton, who's excellent footwork and pressure had Floyd fighting in a pace he wasn't used to that night. He fought Zab Judah, who matched him with speed, he fought De La Hoya, who would have taken his zero if he didn't respect him too much, Arum tried to drain him to fight JM Marquez... Umm nevermind.

Yet Arum throws Cotto in with Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey & Pacquiao over his next 7 fights straight after Mayweather left Top Rank. C'mon man, this Arum hate is ridiculous. Mayweather would have had to fight Cotto, Margo, and Pac if he stayed with Top Rank. The guy just wanted to be able to pick and choose his fights that's why he left Arum.

Wasn't Mosely considered washed up until he ko'd a declawed Margo? If Margo was as bad as you say with loaded gloves, then certainly you would agree Mosely's status was a hype job when floyd fought him...That's the only fight Shane has looked good in for many years...

Arum's main cash cows after FLoyd left in 2006 were Cotto, Margo, and then Pac.

These are the top fighters/welterwelts he put them in with after Mayweather left Top Rank:

Cotto: Quintana, Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, Pacquiao

Margarito: Clottey, Williams, Cintron, Cotto, Mosley, Pacquiao

Pacquiao: Barrera, Marquez, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito

Basically he put them in against the best of the best at the weights they fought at.

Arum wasn't afraid to make those fights, but he was going to be afraid to throw them in with Mayweather, who's hardly a destroyer, and who would've brought more money? Gimme a break.

Mayweawether didn't want none of them. And he didn't get none of them. The fact he is the only notable missing on all these guys welterweight resumes speaks for itself.

He was slowly bring Cotto up like any fighter. Who did Cotto fight at 140? Which champion did he beat? Floyd? Hatton? Tyzu?
He did fight those guys after he wasn't green anymore. DUH

Cotto was too green when Floyd was available to fight, and when he fought Mosley and Zab he wasn't green anymore

If you really feel this way, then surely you are totally up in arms over the sham Arum is pulling by putting the same 'exposed hype job' Mosley being put in the ring with Pacquiao.

    Correct?

Whatever you say man. I prefer to go on precedent and action. And Arum has never been afraid to throw his top guys in tough fights. Recently done the same with a young Rios. He also put young Floyd in with Corrales and then straight in with Castillo at 135. Cotto could be to blame, but not Arum. Then again, no-one can call Cotto a ducker. Probable cause I say was Mayweather given that the only top welter he ended up fighting was 4 years later after Baldo.
