Its amazing to me how people hyped up shane for this fight. I love shane, and would have loved to seen him win, but anyone who knows the sport knew that his chances were very slight at best. I know it is their job to promote a fight to be competitive, and give the impression that it could go either way but comon.... Lets take a look at Shane since 2005... who the hell has he beat since then other then margarito?!?! lets take a look at the facts.... ima grade each one of these fighters at the time he fought them.... Estrada- C- Cruz- D+ (had a good record against a bunch of bums, after the mosley fight he fought some other decent opponents and lost everytime) Vargas x2- C (washed up leftovers...) Collazo- C+ Cotto- B+ (best fighter he had fought in years and lost clearly) Mayorga- D (almost found a way to lose to the man who can never win a big fight) Margarito- C+ (in my opinion the ONLY good win in the last 5 years for SS, and Marg was taylor made for shanes style) Now we've seen what shane has done over the past 5 years, really not a lot.... Now lets look at the fight itself.... Shane has never thrown a bunch of punches, its just not his style... He usually picks his spots, and makes them count, but i do not consider shane a high output puncher. There is no blue print to beat Floyd Mayweather, BUT what i can tell you it is not going to come from someone who throws less then 40 punches a round, its just not going to happen. No one is going to match floyd punch for punch, so anyone who does not throw a lot of punches is not going to be in contention. I know people might say that "well floyd makes them fight a low output" I DISAGREE... Shane has never thrown a lot.... And most of the peole he has fought have been the same... As matter of FACT the people who have come into the fight, known as volume punchers, have given him the most trouble out of anyone..... Im not going to say someone like PacMan can beat floyd, Im just saying its going to have to be someone with that style... Someone that is not going to wait for floyd to throw a punch... Going to have to be someone who doesnt mind eating a few punches to land a few, and i think Manny is has the style that will make things hard for floyd... All you have to do is take a look at floyds fight with ricky hatton.... I know Hatton got knocked out, i watched the fight... But i did see the first half of the fight as well, and saw floyd very uncomfortable... I had the fight even-or with a slight edge to hatton at that point... But then as the story goes, hatton slowed down, and boom out goes hatton. Props to floyd, he did what he had to do and he won, However every tool that Hatton had, that made things hard on floyd, Manny has those exact same skills, except 10 times more effective with them and he will not slow down the way hatton did.... I am floyd will still land his punches, but the long short of it, manny will land more punches and more often and that my friends can surely win him more rounds and the fight.... SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this all has been pointless and un organized however like i said, Shane was way overhyped, anyone who thought his style would give floyd any problems at all, must have never seen him fight, especially his fights with winky wright, or any other good defensive fighter.... so peace out, leave me some hate, but u know im right!!
Floyd can't win. I remember during the PBF/Pac negotiations everyone was like "Shane is the real challenge. He should fight Mosley instead of Pac! But he's too scared" now he trashes him and everyone is trying to make excuses again.
Agree 100% after he decided to not to fight, Shane was the only person left with a pulse that the public would embrace.
again, its not so much that shane is not impressive or not good, its that Mayweather is That Damn Good!!
im sorry chief, but anyone who was sayin shane would be "the real challenge" didnt know what they were talking about, and if u believed what they said, then u dont know much yerself, form yer own opinion!
He didn't rob ME. I didn't buy the PPV. But thanks for your unofficial marketing. Can't wait to hear you regurgitate the next PBF cliche quote (good job copying his subject-verb agreement too; adds to the authenticity). :good
comfirmed my point, you dont know **** then if u dont think manny will present a challenge at all.....
cuz he tried to make the fight with money mayweather, after that fell thru, mosley was in nego with berto....
Wait...I remember this username. Is this the Same Mutha'fuka' that said back in '07 that Hatton will be Floyd's biggest test. And that Floyd has never fought anyone with the Power, Pressure and Chin of Hatton??? MY, MY, MY...How things have changed!!!!
