yeah, f... Sherlock Estrada- C- Cruz- D+ (had a good record against a bunch of bums, after the mosley fight he fought some other decent opponents and lost everytime) Vargas x2- C (washed up leftovers...) Collazo- C+ Cotto- B+ (best fighter he had fought in years and lost clearly) Mayorga- D (almost found a way to lose to the man who can never win a big fight) Margarito- C+ (in my opinion the ONLY good win in the last 5 years for SS, and Marg was taylor made for shanes style) following that: Brussels - D+ Gatti - C (not better than Vargas at this point, overall highly limited while fan friendly) Mitchell - D+ Judah - C+ (leftover of Cindirella man) Baldomir - C (Cindirella man himself) Hoya - B- (shadow of prime Hoya) Hatton - B+ (same as Cotto, the only good win in the last 5 years, not mention he is smaller guy) Marquez - D (at WW highly over weighted and additionally cheated on scale) .... Mosley at Floyd's fight - C (bigger shadow than DLH)
Some people really do talk rubbish! This is the true reason why Shane wanted to fight Floyd... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiSvyyxMGcc[/ame]
Floyd took that fight b/c it was a way to make as much money as possible without facing Manny. Floyd is an opportunist! He definitly weighs his options and makes decisions on whom he fights based on the reward factor. Shane was a HUGE risk! Whether or not you agree is not debatable. Floyd could have got slept if he wasn't on point. THe chances and odds were in Floyd's Favor but this is boxing. If you got a punchers chance anything can happen. Shane had MORE than a punchers chance although the power was the main concern for Floyd. The win was a GREAT win against a great fighter. Was Shane at his very best...no....but he was legitmately the best WW before Floyd dominated him. So....we now have clarity on who the best WW is.
you had the hatton fight even with floyd when hatton scored 6 punches per round? folks find a way to make people not take them seriously around here
This right here throws your credibilty out of the window. Hatton won no more than 1 round at best in that fight.
Shane was the real WW champ and he was a bigger name than everyone else not named Pac so this fight made perfect sense, you can't blame Floyd for Mosley being old, PBF did what he had to and he did it in dominate fashion.
He is one of these fools who said Floyd was forced to fight Shane backed into a corner. Along with the fools who was saying oh Floyd is scared thats why he got a rematch clause for the fight. Where are all these other rematch clause and backed into a fight dudes. Yall all should just jump off a ****ing bridge already!
I dont' think he got a bad beating moreso than being taken to school. He really wasn't that marked up...he wasn't really ever HURT until the combo check hook and turn buckle ended the night. I was actually impressed with Ricky. I thought he did A LOT better than I orignially though. He made it a rough fight for FLoyd....a fight Floyd felt was one of his most difficult. Making out of the 1st half of the fight with Floyd was a moral victory for Ricky.
He said floyd hatton would win 1st of all I think this will be a good fight, I know im in the minority in saying this, but i am picking Ricky Hatton to win this fight. I will explain. All you have to do is look back to May 5 2007, in the Mayweather De La Hoya fight. Oscar was game, he fought about the best he could, and he lost the fight. Oscar had success when he pressured, and threw punches. Bottom line. Dont think anyone can argue that point. Whenever Oscar was throwing and pressuring, he was winning. Due to his age, and inactivity tho he is not capible of doing this over 12 rounds, hense losing the fight. Enter Ricky Hatton. Ricky will be able to throw punches, and pressure for the entire fight. We have seen this before. It will not be the most sensational looking style, but he will not let Floyd get into a comfort zone. Oscar would pressure for 30 seconds, take the next 2:30 off. Rickys will pressure the entire time. There is no doubt, that if Ricky tries to box, or doesnt pressure that he will get a bad beating, but Hatton is going to show up and he is going to punch for 12 rounds, he is going to pressure for 12 rounds. Floyd is not going to beable to land the punches he did on Oscar. Sure, Floyd is gonna win some rounds, but im pickin Hatton to take 8-9 of them, just based on his constant pressure. I am well aware that Ricky has never fought anyone like Floyd, but it can also be said the Floyd has never fought anyone like Hatton. Even a prime Jose Lois Castillo is not the same fighter as Ricky Hatton. Someone please save this thread, and repost December 9th. I know a lot of you disagree, and thats fine. But read what I say, and think about it.
