You can see that the majority of Floyd's jabs in the fight weren't thrown to be landed.

The measuring jab will work well if he used it against Pac, provided that he can get Pac to slow down enough so he can lock the target. Not an easy thing to do. To beat Pac, he'd have to use a different overall strategy, likely one reliant on countering to exploit openings and back-foot fighting to partially nullify Pac's freakish footwork.

EDIT: Has Floyd ever mastered the anchor punch? I ask because it seems tailor made for a lunging slugger like Pac.

    *******S

    1. Ignore Facts

    2. Downgrade valid info

    3. Pay 0 attention to any argument negative to their own

    4. DO NOT address facts shown to them, in rebuttal to their own posts.

    5. Insult the poster, rather than focus on the argument at hand; by doing this, you lose the argument easy as you don't even address the argument the opposite poster is putting up.

    6. Come up with off the wall $hit, with nothing to back it, just to make yourself look like you said something valid; many times this off the wall $hit has nothing to do with boxing.

I don't think he will measure Manny. He will just jab the **** out of him to mess up his rhythm.

Floyd may be one of the greatest fighters ever off the ropes.

Bhop during his training of another fighter explained how he sometimes uses his jab to control the direction his opponent moves and actions he makes. Obvously though you'll need to connect at least some of the time and with stiffness to make your opponent respect the stick.

Power punches are what do the REAL damage in boxing, which is why Floyd and Pac are at the top, their power connect % is through the roof

Jab only connects if you're in range. The way Pac lunges, he starts his punch from out of range of the opposing jab. A jab could stop Pac mid-lunge, but the timing would have to be perfect. And consistently too, because Pac's lunge punches do a lot of damage when they connect.

Floyd put on a good performance up until the KO. But by his own standards a 35 connect percentage against someone as open as Ortiz is still pretty poor. Then again Floyd's standards are pretty high so :conf
