I'm well aware of everything surrounding the Mayweather - Pacquiao situation. Back in 2009 me and some friends were ready to go to Vegas if that fight happened but it never happened and we were bummed out. What happened was that when the fight was being talked about Pacquiao wanted to fight Mayweather but Floyd found every excuse in the book to duck the fight. He went on TV and started talking about how he believed Pac was on PEDs and asked how someone could go from being ordinary to extraordinary and all that. He demanded Olympic style drug testing after pretty much accusing Pac-Man of being on PEDs. Now technically you could say Pac-Man turned down the fight because of testing, but that was a result of Floyd demanding more stringent drug testing, at a time where drug testing wasn't anywhere near where it was today. Now you can say all the drug testing Floyd got into the sport is a good thing, but as fans we just wanted to see the fight while both were in their primes, and it was Floyd's accusations and drug testing demands that prevented the fight from happening. So it's not a myth to say that Floyd was the one who ducked Pac, and not the other way around. Now could Pac-Man have agreed to Floyd's demand for Olympic style drug testing ? Sure he could have but that was not a demand that Floyd made for any other fighter. And you could say "well why did Pac-Man not agree to testing" and we can do down that rabbit hole too. There are questions there, and we can debate whether Pac-Man really was scared of needles and all that, and having blood drawn and all that. I don't think Pac had any problem with random urine testing, it was just the blood testing and needles that he wasn't comfortable with having his blood taken before a fight.
