Floyd Mayweather is a great fighter, but I don't care what anyone says,
his stature and record are very much in large part due to his brilliant
managing skills and picking his opponents. He'll retire with his health
and wealth, on that there can be no denying. However, what about his
respect? For his entire career there's been one opponent, Manny
Pacquiao, that boxing fans clamored for him to face and for whatever his
reasons, the fight never happened. Think about that, if the boxing world
pined for Leonard, Duran or Hearns to fight Pacquiao because there was a
question as to whether they could beat him or not, do you think they
would've made the fight a reality? yes or no

The fight was close to being made, don't act like floyd never wanted the fight. You know why it didint happen and that's because pacquiao got his feelings hurt when asked for a drug test.

There is 2 sides to this story. Both have made excuses and the blame should fall to both sides.

...but you'd have to be unbiased to realize that. Now make way for the trolls, programmer, Robert80, etc and their canned responses

This. Mayweather has come with excuses, Pacquiao has come up with excuses, and Arum has come up with excuses. Only a fanboy wouldn't be able to see that.

Same reason why he ducked Antonio Margarito. Floyd needs slow fighters with low workrates to shine.

Why did Pac never fight PBF? PBF is the champ here not the other way around it's not his job to make challenges to guys, it's his to accept them.:deal Pac wanted what PBF had not the other way around. Not enough emphasis is put on Pac's lack of wanting to fight PBF but rather all of it is on PBF to make the fight, which couldn't be more backwards.

Typical just try to pretend Floyd had nothing to gain from beating FOTD Pac (although I think they should have shared that honor). That is the problem. They were more eager to prove that they didn't need each other than to gain the other's scalp.:deal

Calling Pacquiao FOTD like it means something is like calling Floyd the richest athlete ever. It really doesn't mean ****.

I'm glad he won't take the fight, cause then everyone will always question his legacy

That doesn't make any sense. In your world maybe it doesn't mean anything. He has plenty of other accolades I can't be bothered to list.

He has great accolades, but FOTD is the same as FOTY, doesn't mean you were the best fighter that year, just the most exciting. I don't mean to take anything away from Pac because he's an ATG in my book.
