it's nice to think so...but tell me, will Groves and Degales promoters be likely to throw their men in with Carl Froch at this time?

there are many, many variables in making a fight

Manfredo was taken as a fight purely to familiarise Calzaghe further with the american audience prior to coming to the states to beat p4p number 4 Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones.

You're clearly a hater and it taints every post you write, no wonder you picked up the awards you did at this years Team Elite Awards.

this I agree with, the problem is sometimes beating a prospect can cause that prospect to lose confidence and peter out (sometimes) and then the fighter gets criticised for beating an untested fighter with a "padded record"

hell, after Froch-Bute, more people were saying how **** Bute was than how good Carl Froch was

who many people said Calaghe ducked because Pavlik would have murdered him...which was stupid at the best of times, but then B-Hop absolutely took him to school and even the Pavlik huggers had to shut the **** up about their nonsense with Kelly beating Joe

but no..Joe was petrified of Kelly because of what Kelly did to Lockett(seriously, this is what people were saying at the time)

To say Joe would of ruined Froch is ****ing ridiculous and its clear the disdain some people have for a warrior like Froch is because he wasn't beaten by Clalzaghe.

He brought nothing to the table, so Calzaghe had absolutely no reason to fight him, he wouldn't have broken Frochs spirit, because that's impossible, but he would have beaten him badly

I don't feel people have disdain for Froch Dino, I think people respect him for making the most of his limited ability and the fact that he is prepared to travel.

However, fans are realists and see how average Froch looks against any skilled boxer eg Dirrell, Taylor, Ward. Now imagine a green plodder like Froch coming up against an experienced world class fighter like Calzaghe with his outstanding ring IQ and his wonderfull ability to adapt and it spells real bad news for Froch, a sustained 12 round beatdown, and the chance of him being ruined depending on his mental charachter.

Plodder? Thats his style. Did look like he was plodding in the last few rounds against Taylor where relentlessly stalked him utill he almost blew him out through the ropes? He was slaying guys in his early days, so as i said before , he wasn't that inexperienced and defiantly not an unknown.
His mental fortitude has never been questioned and is one of his best attributes.

The revisionism of that fight is really annoying. Bute was an undefeated world champion, who had looked good in his last fight against Glen Johnson. He was the favourite going on, and Carl fought like a man possessed. Instead of giving Carl credit, people like to focus on Bute instead :-(

If we take the best versions of both guys

    - Calzaghe from the Sheika fight

    - A younger, fresher Froch from the Pascal fight

Calzaghe would find Froch easy to hit, while Froch will get through with right hands here and there, he's not going to bother Joe that much. A flash knockdown is possible, but highly unlikely, Calzaghe had a great chin and conditioning.

Calzaghe likely teaches Froch a boxing lesson, hitting him from unorthodox angles with crisp combinations, the difference in speed will be shocking, and Froch will lose out in almost every exchange. One of Carl's best qualities is his conditioning, but Calzaghe was one of the best conditoned boxers of all time, he would set a frantic pace from round 1 to round 12 and never let up. I can see this being a 9-3, 10-2 type decision to Calzaghe
