Cotto is more active then most fighters today. Do you understand that? And for some reason, you think Gomez is an absolute bum. He isn't.

Cintron? The guy who cancelled a unification bout w/ Williams is willing to UNIFY now?:patsch

Dude....if you haven't realized by now these guys are doing different things, you're beyond help.

It's a stay busy fight you stubborn ****.

If he doesn't detroy Gomez, that will NOT hurt Cotto at all. And that's because Gomez isn't as bad as you want him to be. And you WANT him to be bad so you can create more threads like this. You and your childlike simple logic need to go back to watchung pro wrestling,.

Bull****. I can't believe the amount of posters on ESB who buy into this line of garbage. You can, I refuse.

Vasquez vs Marquez III is a more meaningful fight than Floyd vs Oscar II. Yes it sells squat in comparison, but in terms of sport and legacy, it means far more.

Baywatch was at one point the most watched TV show on the planet. I guess that meant it was REALLY good right?:lol:

These Fanboys would defend Floyd if he hit a women.....again.

Thank you. Bad music and meaninless tv programs dominate the airwaves. Does that make them good?

There are still real musicians out there, forwarding the evolution of their art, doing creative things. Perhaps they sell less, but in 20 years they will be appreciated in retropspect much moreso than the other stuff.

Its wild to see how many posters here agree with this style over substance mentality and embrace it.

Cintron pulled out because of an injury, he's injury is fine now yet Arum refused to put the two together. Proof is there.

Gomez isn't anything more then a journeyman until he beats someone good.
Exactly, its a stay busy fight! A fight thats easy, and just to stay active. Gomez is nothing special and Cotto better destroy him, he has everything to lose and nothing to gain.

You might of thought it wasn't good, but the people watching it thought it was.

So what? He pulled out and came back when Williams had a fight lined up.

Gomez IS NOT a journeymen until he starts losing Eze. :patsch

It seems obvious to me they are using the recognition Gomez got off of the contender, his rap records and his win over Gatti, to hype a fight against the Cintron-Margarito winner...

These \Contenders' are walking into title shots, they must be getting some serious fame over in the States mustnt they...?:huh

He just started fighting in 10 rounds. :patsch

Instead of journeyman, he's a hyped up nobody by Cotto Nut Huggers. He's not good, never will be good. Citnron, Clottey and Margo were all available.

Well, it's better to fight Gomez than to sit on the shelf. When you are a very active fighter, not every fight has to be, or can be against the other best guy out there. Gomez isn't the best, but he certainly isn't some chump. A respectable fight to keep Cotto active against a good level of comp.

Gomez just started fighting 10 rounders. This fight is to keep him active, but not against a good level of comp.

Well, I agree to disagree there. He may have just started fighting 10 rounders, but I don't see how that defines how good he is. Watching his fights, an seeing his wins over Manfredo, Brinkley, Kaddour, Gatti, and Tackie proved to me that he is certainly a good fighter. I don't think that he is a true Champion in the making, but he is a good boxer with great heart, and a very good chin. Definitely a respectble fight for an active fighter to stay busy with. Especially coming off of the solid two year run that Cotto had in 2006 and 2007. Especially considering before he stepped it up in that run, he had been fighting solid competition for years. Cotto has earned my respect, and really doesn't have to prove anything. I respect the fact that he stays busy, and always figts solid opposition. It isn't easy to line up mega fight after mega fight.
