Cotto can't stand up for himself? And push for not fighting someone like Gomez and at least put him in their with someone decent.

like i said cotto doesn't have a say, he lets the promoters pick an opponent who THEY think is in his best interest to fight.

He doesn't have a say but he lets his promoters pick?

I love Cotto as a fighter but time comes that a fighter has to call his own shots.

Cotto is being a *****. It's time to call out what HE wants to do. Who he wants to fight and if his promoter doesn't get him those fights he'll go somewhere else.

Not, let his promoters pick and choose easy fights.

I think its fine to let your management team take you to the top and go with their decisions. But he is at the top of his division now as the clear #2, and should be calling his own shots.

You're mixing up your terminology now. You're interchanging a bigger fight with a more meaningful fight. This isn't the case. Bigger and meaningful are not synonyms. Just because a fight is bigger, doesn't mean it's more meaningful. Anyone who argues that Vasquez vs. Marguez III is bigger than DLH/Mayweather II is fooling themselves. Once again, a big fight is measured by mainstream attention and revenue generated. It's not a hard concept to understand.

    give me a ****in break!

cotto just fought mosley!! You want him to fight pound for pounders only or what?????

For a regular defense, this is more than okay.

Mosley shouldn't of been a struggle. He was 36 years old.

yeah, but still had some juice. lots of it!!!

and mosley was still a top ten welter by independant rankings!!!!!

now why should he take another real top ten guy right now?? nobody is doing it. look at europe.

they fight like 2 real top ten guys in 40 bouts and ****.

and gomez is more than good enough for a routine defense.

were cotto german based, he´d be fighting someone like cosme rivera or golden johnson in his next fight.

so lets not get overly hard on cotto. this is not the 50´s where you only fought top guys. give him a break.
