Why Gomez for Canelo? There are many better fighters calling him out.

I would be amazed if Canelo could beat Cotto if they fought this year. Does Canelo have a chance? Sure. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be shocked if Saul beat Cotto.

But back to my point, who Canelo is fighting right now, is about right for his age honestly, but he shouldn't be considered a world champion until he starts fighting other fighters recognized as legit dangerous champs.

 

I hear ya but Rhodes was the #1 contender and the only legit champions are Cotto and K-9. I would like a K-9 fight but im preety sure Canelo beat him, more PPL would say k-9 is a nobody and not a real champ. haters haters

 

:huh Canelo SHOULD be fighting more guys with the status of k-9 . Canelo is NOT an elite level fighter yet. He needs these types of fights to grow and fine tune his technique

 

A Gomez fight completely sucks. A Vanes fight would be cool :good

 

There will always be haters for no reason. Especially at ESB.

And personally, I thought the way Saul dominated Rhodes was impressive. Rhodes was no bum, and Alvarez destroyed him, so I can't really hate on that.

I hope after Gomez, Alvarez's team could get a K-9, or Cotto fight, and try to start unifying (doubtful I know).

Berto actually fought some decent comp, Collazo, Forbes, Quintana, Urango, and soon Zaveck is a hell of alot better than Hatton, Rhodes, Cotto, Baldo and soon Gomez.
