The great thing about the fight happening now instead of down the line is that, to a large extent, we don't know how good these two are and how good they will be. They are both very much in the developmental stage of their boxing.

Generally, what we see is a fighter might make a big step forward and look sensational in a fight and then he might plateau for a couple of fights and then take another big step forward. Also fighters progress and peak at very different stages of their careers. If the fight had been made after the Adamu fight a lot more people might be picking Groves. Since then, GG has stagnated a bit whilst JD has come on heaps (sic) and bounds:hey

There are so many things we don't know about these guys heart, bottle, stamina, ability to 'perform under the lights' (#PBF) at this stage of their careers.

So that's kinda why I see it as a pick 'em fight because neither are at their peak, both have crazy talent and both are still learning, developing right now. So if GG takes a big step forward in his development over the course of his camp and this fight and JD doesn't then there is no reason why GG cannot win the fight.

So... it's a 50-50 fight because we don't know enough about them?

its a quality fight. the winner moves on up and the loser rebuild. maybe they will rematch in a few years time. boxing needs to stop being so scared of the loss and realise it is more about coming in good shape, coming to fight and competing against the best at your level!

Nah more that compared to a fight between two guys with 30 fights, it's a lot harder to predict how this will play out or even how good the fighters will be going into the ring. I just think at this stage they are both developing at different speeds and with their comparable natural talent it is hard to foretell exactly who will have the edge in the ring.

Groves is ****ing average, everyone he has fought has a padded record to the 2nd degree.

Degale is the best fighter Britain has now, everyone will be slating Degale for fighting such a **** fighter after he breezes this.
