Is that true, Russell, or you just kidding? I never noticed that! I had the Hagler Hart fight on tape but hadn't seen it in ages until I checked it out again recently on YouTube. For real, Hagler fights the second half of the fight almost scared! I suppose coming off two defeats in a row meant he probably wasn't the most confident fighter at that point, but still, it's definitely the most wary I have seen Hagler, which is something considering the killers he fought in his career.
The Hart fight isn't in my Marv dvd collection but my video one. I'll have to root that out. You first though mate.
Someone once said that if Hagler had a physical weakness it wasn't anywhere near his chin but on his body, in the centre of the stomach below the solar plexus. Can anyone confirm who said it and whether it was a justified comment?
I haven't done my loft tidy-up yet, haven't found the time. Anyway, you said you had the ones I mentioned didn't you?
Nah, just name the ones you have and I'll check. I don't think you gave me any issues with the year and month. :good
That was a superb book.Unfortuately for me,it became one of those that you give to a friend, never to set eyes on it again. Although this thread has inspired me to go and find out if said "friend" can take a punch.
There are just some guys that can take an exceptional punch ... Hagler is one of them ... It seems to be an intangible ...
Just one of the reasons I think Hagler is one of the very top middleweights...He is going to be coming after all night long...and he is very mean. Nobody walks through a Marvin Hagler.
Hagler was always in tremendous shape, which is probably the most important factor in punch resistance.
