My guess is that they are trying to work out the financial terms, but does anybody have any concrete information?

The fight is scheduled to take place in 8 weeks and the contracts are still not signed, will this fight take place?

Who would be an appropiate replacement if the Margarito fight falls throught?

    My guess would be:

    Joshua Clottey
    Luis Collazo
    Andre Berto

    Thoughts?

The battles over money are even more fierce than what goes on in the ring.

It's more than six weeks before the fight.. My guess is the financial terms, as you said.. They've already settled the glove problems.. I can only guess is that they are still working out the terms on the contract.. This fight is gonna' happen.. Clottey vs Margo would be good, but this fight between Cotto & Margo is the real deal.. Supposedly the winner fights Mayweather.. This fight has to happen..

I read in a local newspaper that they are ironing some final detail in the agreement. Cotto's purse has already been agreed. Maybe Cotto's PPV share is the problem. Just speculating here...

Say the fight doesn't get the Cotto signature, let say it's a financial matter. How would you take this?

The only way i would forgive Cotto for not signing this fight is if he fights PBF instead of Margo. Otherwise, well you know.

As I posted before, he already agreed to the financial terms. I read they are ironing some final details. The deal is basically done, although you never know...

If the fights does not come off it will look like Cotto is ducking Margo, event though I think that s not the case.

Only if Cotto fights PBF instead of Margo, would I understand not signing. Other than that, there is no reason other than Team Cotto is nervous about Margo.

Margo is at the tail end of his career as a fighter in his prime. He needs the Cotto fight now for a chance to win, and it has to be by knock out. Now that DLH opened his mouth about fighting Cotto, a decision win against Miguel Angel is not happening. The Oscar fight, as we all know, would not mean **** if Cotto wins. We all know Oscar is primarly a promoter at this point, but the victory will still look good on Cottos resume' and will be one hell of a pay day.

Evangelista Cotto might want to wait and fight Margo next year if he's still making his case and winning. Margo is a true threat and spoiler to future Cotto Mega fights in which the Puerto Rican WW King has a better chance at winning and easily make more money.

Andre Berto would be a Prob for whoever fight's him.
IMO, he is the uncrowned future champion at whatever weight he decides to fight in against whoever.

    As for the Margarito/Cotto...
I think maybe De la Hoya wanting a Cotto matchup might delay this superfight.
like a poster above said, if this fight is 6 weeks way and still not formal announcement made.
this fight might be in jeapordy.

If this fight falls through I wouldn't mind seeing Berto-Cotto or Berto-Margo as filler.
