    It’s a name change.

Junior Mega weight Never happened to Olympic boxing.

so there’s proof we are safe from that.

In deference to the best Cruiserweight the world has ever seen it should be renamed as Holyweight.

Wouldn't it have started with Ali and the 80s? they were all quite some size bigger then original HWs. It's the same logic really.

No. Ali, Foreman and Norton might have weighed a bit more than 200lb but they were roughly not too different to Dempsey, Tunney, Schmeling, Louis, Braddock, Baer so far as height and reach go.

it’s when the 6’5” brigade finally started to benefit from modern training, nutrition and a greater understanding of sports science that we saw a new division of men that had previously been unable to dominate before.

Is it the SHW division when Povetkin is around during the height of it as the leading contender?

Povetkin was a walking pharmacy if we’re being fair.

Povetkin didn't even beat a single SHW contender lol, come on. He's my favorite boxer ever, but his success ended exactly where you would expect it to end, against small guys. Besides that, Povetkin would still be considered a big HW up until like 1995.

So Lennox Lewis wasn’t a SHW in his prime? Seems oddly specific the weights and height.

I guess I would change it to 6'5 240 pounds, Klitschko and Lewis are definitely SHWs. I feel like 6'5 240 and 6'7+ are 100% reasonable. Nobody considers 6'4 guys SHWs except people stuck 20 years ago.
