Haye fought Mormeck before he fought Enzo... before he came a star. Clearly, Haye vs Mormeck was not considered HBO-headliner material at that time.

Haye vs Barrett was held in the UK, on the same night that HBO showed Taylor vs Lacy.

Haye is finally going to get his opportunity when he faces Wlad. Let's hope he makes the most of it.

One, he's fought primarily as a cruiserweight.
Two, HBO isn't avoiding as much as he's a relative unknown. Beating Monte Barrett doesn't exactly earn you a heavyweight pedigree.
Three, talk to me a month before the fight and after episode four of 24/7 where it tells you brand of underwear he wears.

I'm not talking about the dates and competition and that.
I'm saying they could have put him on.Put a prospect on a showcase along with it and tha'ts it.

    Three things:

    the Cruiserweight Division was weak.

Haye's opposistion has been less than stellar.

Nobody outside of the UK or hardcore fans knows who the hell David Haye is.

Cruisers don't sell well... was Bell/Mormek I was an undercard fight and Bell/Mormeck II I don't think was on HBO since it took place in France.

And HBO needs a good reason to go to Europe for a fight (e.g. Lacy/Calzaghe). Kessler never hit HBO until JC; JC had very limited exposure. Same with AA.

Unless you are already very big AND fighting someone with U.S. interest, HBO won't televise from Europe. If Haye wanted to go that route, he'd have to do what Adamek did - fight in the U.S.

Calzaghe beat your two best Yank superstars in a row and had Bernard begging for a rest period from the ref and faking lowblows. That fight was as close to man-**** as it gets. It was like a sequel to Deliverance with Joe doing his best impression of a mountain-man and Hopkins playing the role of Ned Beatty. Both of them squealed like pigs. You Yanks will never live that down. Joe came to America, he saw, he conquered.

,,,Hayes is a hype job, an did not give himself more time to hype himself, if he were to fight let say three or four more fights before wlad, an try to get on wlad undercard or fight in america then yea he get on HBO, i mean this guy could of got in a hatton undercard if he tried, but he would of needed to take a pay cut i am sure,,,not as bad as a cut as wlad making him take, ha ha ha ha,

becuase he is from the UK, foreign fighters don't break into HBO right away, they have to gain fans over here and that is done by fighting an HBO fighter
