He didnt say that did he? He said cotto was a paper champ becaue he won a vacant title. And he said Baldo beat THE CHAMP for his strap. Is this not what happened? Where is Baldo brought up as a better fighter than Cotto? please direct me to the post

Arguably but he hasnt become CHAMP of the division. Paul still is out there, now if he beats Paul then we can have this discussion

How? Becuase when Floyd retired Cotto was already ranked number 1 and being that Clottey was at #3 and Margarito at #2 it only makes senes that Cotto was the champ especially when you consider that Williams was dominated by Quintana.
the ratings were all ****ed up due to that loss and the retirement of Mayweather, However the number 1 and number 2 welters fought each other and the better man won making him the champion, its common sense.
you can deny this truth which I fully expect you to do, but going into the Cotto Margarito fight it was clear that these were the two very best welter weights in the world at that moment and the winner usally does come out the Champion, However why is it the divison gets held up like that in terms of the Ring belt when Floyd retires?

perhaps cus they think he will come back, either way this is VItali Klitschko kinda ****, and I dont buy into it, the moment Floyd was retired was the moment he dropped in all ratings period.
Look up the definition of retirement.

At the time of the Baldomir fight Clottey was? did?

Cotto was at Jrww, Cintron? Paul?

see nobody is claiming Baldomir is better than the said fighter but dont take credit from Baldomir either he maximized the little talent he had, went undefeated for 9 years and Beat the recognise champ of hs division. He worked his ass off to get what he got, do not disrespect this man because of his limited abilities he did what he had to do.

Williams is the one that is talking a little too much in my opinion. Anyone who says Margarito is ducking Williams, got to be joking. Margarito loves pain, grins when it hurts. Margarito just got in one of the biggest wars, and its only been a month since then. Give it time guys, the fights will be made when it comes to Margarito.

And Clottey is a wimp. To me he is. He hasn't made me a fan. He covers like a shell, doesn't throw enough to stand a threat to guys like Margarito. Clottey to me is one of those fighters that hopes his opponent will get hurt first and win that way, rather than win decisively by knockout. I think people (PBF fans especially) give Clottey more credit than he deserves only because he beat Chico, poor guy. Because we don't want to take anything away from PBF, Chico has to be a tough guy, so Clottey becomes great too and Margarito is avoiding Clottey too. Funny stuff!

Bazooka, if you want to make up your own rankings in order to benefit your favorite fighter, go right ahead. However, Margo does not have that ring belt and is not the lineal champ. But go ahead, be my guest, argue the facts with your opinions. Facts are what is true, opinions are what you want to be true.

The parts i highlighted basically sums you up as a poster.

You call clottey a wimp beacuse he hasnt made you a fan due to the fact that he likes to use defense. Which is a skill in itself. Then you say Floyd fans give clottey credit because he beat chico? find me any PBF fan that Bigs up clottey for beating a past it WW chico!! If you cant you know where that leaves your credibility. And who said Marg is avoiding clottey? How he is fighting clottey.

You have proven to me over the past few days that you just started watching boxing and dont appreciate skill. Along with all types of fighters. You critcized Floyd for not wanting to go for a KO against DLH, nevermind the fact DLH has never been KO'd to the chin and nevermind the fact that floyd is not a 154 lber and still got the job done. You also refer to KO's as history and if you dont go for them you are not making history.

there are UFC forums out there:good

irrelveant but go ahead talk about it.

"Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million. Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in. "
