Joe's protege, Bert Cooper seemed more of a chip off the old block than Marvis himself.

For the most part, they all must have had a nice, long talk with their sons, and were successful in communicating their wishes.

Ken Norton Jr was a gifted athletic like his father. However he pursed a career
in NFL and won 2 Super Bowls with Dallas Cowboys.
With the benefit of a college education and the better odds of making a NFL
career why would you take up boxing.

Not a heavyweight but Laila Ali didn't do too bad following in her fathers footsteps with 24-0, 21 KO

Must be the most successful heavyweight offspring?

I met George's son "Monk" at a Dad George book signing. He was massive..but seemed to be a nice guy.

Wass1985 Marvis Frazier didn't do all too bad especially since he was not a chip off the old block.[/QUOTE]

Yes, both of them beat Joe Bugner, years apart. Marvis was an excellent amateur with wins over Witherspoon and Bonecrusher Smith.

Marvis Frazier was a decent fighter...who should have been down at Cruiserweight.

Well, if we are counting non-heavyweight offsprings of heavyweight champs, then that would probably be Leon Spinks son, Cory, who won world titles at both welterweight and Jr. Middleweight.

Doesn't George have five sons and he named all of them George? That's ..... kinda weird.
