Why has team USA been doing so bad in the amateurs

I would say funding makes a big difference take Ireland for example many of their squad are experienced fighters and in their 20s, without funding and a way to make a living of competing at the elite amateur level many of those guys would have turned pro when given the chance.

Team GB has also provided high performance facilities and funding to stop elite amateurs turning pro when they turn 18 and have now improved in amateur competitions.

Both squads are always competing in some form of international competitions whether it be a minor or major championships, this helps prepare them to fight boxers from all over the world.

 

You've spent the last 5 of your comments making snide, condescending comments about Limerick, so yes you have been looking down on people.

Played Harty Cup with CBS ***ton Street, trained for a while at St Francis boxing club. Nothing serious of course, went there for about 5 sessions with some buddies. Never competed.
