Really cannot blame Putin for reacting to American attempts to overthrow the Pro Russian Ukrainian government, for a Western puppet :smooch

Mytrofanov is now qualified for Rio after Kilicci's drug test from 2012 came back positive. Finally Ukraine has someone qualified, and Mytrofanov is good

Most of them have turned pro, and many of them where in two olympics, so this guys are somehow new at the elite.

i'd guess more young guys in the military, less money to train those that aren't. their hockey teams have fallen back a great deal also.

I think Ukraine will qualify at least 5 boxers at this current qualifying event

Bohachuk, Mytrofanov, Khyzniak, Manukian, Samufalov,Zamoyatev, Ganzula, are all good fighters... and most of them are very young.Ukraine still has a lot of talent.. Bohachuk, Khyzniak, Samufalov,Zamotayev,Belyak etc are only like 20-21... it's very young squad I think you'll see Ukraine back challenging at the top of the medal tables in a few years.

I was wrong lol just looked at the results only Khyzniak and Butsenko are still in it.

Big Mistake by the Ukranian coaches to choose Samafulov over Serhii Bohachuk. Bohachuk is a real talent.., he beat Roniel Iglesias, whereas Samafulov lost to Iglesias,it's clear Bohachuk is the stronger fighter...

Seven of them gone so only two left, Butsenko and Khyzniak? Both could make it though.

Really is a puzzling decision, 2nd tournament in a row that they took Samofalov over Bohachuk. Good thing Bohachuk can go to the last qualifier in Venezuela, and Arkhypenko instead of Vykhryst. Also Manukian will go to the Venezuela qualifier, no Armenian boxers went to Baku.

very strange indeed. Hopefully they finally send him then! Manukian is a strong fighter think he would have a good chance of qualifying.

Yep :deal and Manukian and Bogachuk

Ukraine are having a bit of a crisis in Amateur boxing by their standards. Thye struggled and failed in the qualifying tournaments. They only qualified 4 boxers and I don't expect any of the 4 to medal.

I think Lomachenko's dad -their coach leaving has had a big impact, and obviously the war.
