Why has wlad never fought for the WBC belt ?

    Right now while not owning the wbc Wlad is unquestionably "The Champ".
    Wlder will have to build more buzz for that to come into question.
    Fighting, and beating Povetkin is the gateway he must pass to earn some dispute.
    Right now there is no disputing who the champ is, and the green belt has paper status.
    However like I said defending against Povetkin who is a legit real #1 contender would be something to create real buzz.
    For me Wilder is just another contender in line until that happens.

    How legendary is the wbc belt .. A belt is only as respected as the man who owns is.. And wilder has it .. All that needs to be explained, and like others said , vitali had it

    Fighter makes the belt. No one really cares about them trinkets no more.
    Wilder will have to give the belt more bling by beating, and defending his mando.
    Stiverne was a good win, but Stiverne was also barley top 5.
    A good win that cemented Wilder in the top 5, but he needs that 1 more big fight to give his belt more worth.

    It is hoped that Wilder or whoever has the belt next spring will fight Wlad. It is the obvious HW Title fight...

    True, but you cannot pass the latest WBC fiascos with Cotto's weight and Molina as title defense opponent.

    Wilder will get smashed from Povetkin and if Povetkin wants a rematch with Wlad the green bet will be on line.. simple as that

    And the green belt will not allow Wlad repeat his first performance and he will get knocked out. Simple as that.
