Would anyone else be interested in this fight? I know I would! It seems like and great match up and surely a HUGE fight in Poland?:bbb Tomasz Adamek..................Albert Sosnowski Poland......................country........................Poland 33...................................age......................................31 6′ 1½″........................height.............................6′ 2½″ 217.............................weight.............................224½ 75″...............................reach..................................77″ 42 (KO 27)................won...................45 (KO 27) 1 (KO 0)......................lost........................3 (KO 2) 0...................................drawn.....................................1 Michael Grant.....last fight............V Klitschko
Polish know that Sosnowski... well.. isnt very good. Afaik Sosnowski vs Vitali wasnt even on polish tv. Adamek vs Wlodarczyk at CW would have been more interesting maybe..
I understand your point but how good is Adamek at heavyweight? He hasn't exactly destroyed his resent opposition, beating Estrada, Arreola, Grant (who are all limited) by decisions. Don't get me wrong, I like Adamek and believe he would win. I don't however think that he is many levels above Sosnowski, who is improving with age IMO. I see it as a tough fight although I could be wrong.
I'd watch it. Sosnowski wasn't bad against Vitali: at least he came to fight and hung in there. I think he and Adamek would be an interesting fight.
Adamek would easily beat Sosnowski by either UD or late TKO. That said, neither is interested in fighting the other atm.
This fight not happening has more to do with finances and Sosnowski just not being very good. Sosnowski's team not wanting to get it on with Adamek because Sosnowski would get beat badly and Adamek's team not wanting any part of Sosnowski because he doesn't bring anything to the table. As much as I like Sosnowski he'll never be more then a Regional Champion.
Its a good question, why it didnt happen. I think that its all about the money You know Sosnowski is fighting outside Poland (mainly in the UK) and he isnt that famous in Poland. Adamek is fighting outside Poland too and he is a big attraction in New Jersey and in Poland. But the problem is that there wouldnt be enough money to set this fight in Poland. Golota-Adamek made a financial sense, because both fighters were/are very markatable. Sosnowski is a good/decent fighter, but his popularity isnt close to Adamek's.
Finances. If they stage it in Poland, not many people are going to watch it outside of Poland, so it has to be a huge event locally and Sosnowski would not generate that interest.
One of the main reasons I was surprised that this fight has never happened is because I thought it would generate lots of money in Poland. From the replies here it seems that's not really the case. I must admit I'm quite shocked but at least I have my answer.
