Why hasn't Bob Arum treated Nonito like the star he is?

Arum's a smart businessman. He'll do a passing of the baton when he's ready to pass that baton. Right now, Manny is the man and fans are asking for more Nonito. When Manny gets closer to the finish line of his career, Arum will have Nonito on a card or two and give him some more love.

Koncz already said that the reason why Nonito cannot fight on Pacquiao undercards is because he's not an MP Promotions fighter. And he explained that all Filipinos fighting in Manny's undercards has to be signed in with MP Promotions. They offered Nonito to sign with them, but he won't, that's why he isn't put in any Pac undercards. Arum's hand is tied with this alone.

Then we have Nonito getting injured in his first few years under Top Rank, meaning they matched him up with easy fights while getting interim titles along the way as he recuperates his broken fists.

When they aimed for Darchinyan, Darchinyan backed out. He went up in weight, Arum got him two world level 118 pounders. Donaire knocks them out.

 

Nonito has that star quality and it shows.

There's no real financial incentive for Arum to set up Nonito to fight ***** Darcinyan. Nonito already made ***** his ***** so who would tune in to see the same thing happen again?

 

Only manny deserves the special treatment!!

 

Nonito's not a star, that's why. He may be big in the boxing community for what he's done but to the common fan he's not a name.
