Why hasn't Bute been able to close negotiations with anyone?

    Two corrections:
    1. similar ages means nothing in boxing. Fighters enter boxing with different amounts of amatuer experience, some with none, or turn to boxing later. And some just advance at different rates.
    2. There is no double standard. Kessler just fought two weeks ago. He must be alright if he's getting into the ring now.

You've done nothing in this thread but show you just don't like Bute.

Jean Pascal offered Bute the Fight after his lost to BHOP. Despite Pascal loss that would have been a massive fight in canada and for boxing. it would have generated money and attention.

Bute refused (fought mendy). (check on the ropes Pascal radio interview episode #131)

I want to see Bute vs Dirrell, so I can judge his ability. Although people look down on Dirrell based on his action in the S6, any one who knows the art of boxing realises he is a very talented fighter.

Bute vs Dirrell make it happen.

not many other 31 year old beltholders in the sport today that have never had a true big fight. Bute's in his own class.

He's in a similar class to some of the German based fighters who defend their paper trinket vs nobodies.

But he is on American television so that makes it different to the fickle supporters.

Ottke had a far better first 6 title fights then Bute has had and was universally recognized as a fraud.:deal

Exactly. Bute have been offered big fights many times. Bute's own team has publicly acknowledged that they have been offered to fight Kessler. A couple of years ago, instead of entering into negotiations the response was "Bute is not ready for Kessler".

Pascal offered Bute a fight as you mention.

    And so on.

Bute fans conveniently 'forget' all of these instances and only seem to remember facts very selectively (such as when Froch perhaps said noto fight Bute).

    :rofl

When you say and so on... you actually mean ...That's about it. The only big fight he refused, because it was offered at another weight class.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a team admitting they aren't ready yet. No one convenienlty forgot anything. Some are just better at understanding a position then others. You're very particular with the posts you acknowledge.

Noone would probably be on Bute's back for his lack of opposition if some delusional Bute fans weren't so high and mighty about Kessler choosing another route than to fight Bute at this time.

These fans' behavior just stands out like a sore thumb thinking about Bute's lack of opposition and previous offers that Bute refused from Kessler and others.

If these fans weren't so hypocritical then perhaps people wouldn't look so closely at Bute's own past actions (and lack thereof).

There's no question the Super Six has stalled Bute's development as an attraction. On the other hand, he needs to be more proactive and willing to make concessions to make a big fight. He's in his 30s and it's time.

A lot of the excuses made on this thread for Bute sound like those made for Ottke and Calzaghe prior to Lacy. Calzaghe was fortunate to have immense talent and the durability to fight at world class well into his 30s, but Bute may not be so lucky.

Ultimately, though, I think Showtime's investment in Bute and the 168-pound division generally will bring enough money to the table to create the matchups we want to see. I think Bute is very talented and would be favored against everyone in the Super Six except for Ward and Froch.

So I asked Lance to practice what he preaches.
As usual Lance showed he is a troll who has no facts, but... comes out with this below to the poster
Look at what Uttercunt wrote here and how he avoided my post asking him refute what was written with examples. Proven wimp Lance

As a Bute fan there is one area in which his age does concern me. Lucian's style depends a great deal on his reflexes. In my earlier post I said Bute is nowhere near 32 in normal ring years because he does not have a lot of wear and tear on him. However, the loss of reflexive and hand speed is a natural process. Father time slows us all down.

Bute's defense is already problematic. If Magee had serious fire power, Bute would have been in real trouble in that fight. There were some fairly long periods when Magee made his left hand work like a charm. He does not have a whole lot of punching power, so it never became a problem.

As soon as Lucian fights an orthodox guy who is packing a serious left hook, or a lefty with really good power, we may have a problem.

Bute is the modern day Sven Ottke, demands every opponent fight in Bell Centre or Romania with his personal judges and ref. The guy is a disgrace, a fraud of a beltholder.
