He has won 3 in a row and has a victory over tyson griffin-spencer fisher-hermes franca and sean sherk. This guy deserves it more than diego sanchez who has only 2 fights in the lightweight division. I think edgar deserves a title shot at bj penn.

I think he is close but he's also behind Gray Maynard who hasn't lost and has wins over Huerta,Jim Miller, Clementi, Edgar and Siver. He's fighting Nate Diaz next and if he should win I would think he deserves a shot more then anybody.

Simple he lost to Gray Maynard when he had his orginal win streak and he didnt win his 3rd straight fight until last week so relax it could be his title shot next.

No since he loss to him but i just don't get how fighters like diego sanchez fights 2 times at lightweight then get a title shot right away.

Joe Stevenson and Clay Guida where good wins add in the fact that Diego since being in the UFC has defeated Kenny Florian, Karo Parysian, Joe Riggs, Nick Diaz. Diego I wouldnt say was overdue for a title shot but he was deserving of it.

yea but those other wins are at welterweight. He is now a lightweight and fighting for a lightweight title so those wins are welterweight don't matter.

I know ufc ranking sucks but i just think other fighters deserves a title shot more than diego at lightweight.

I don't agree with that statement at all.

But what's a bigger and better fight to you? Which fighter would you really wanna see fight BJ more? Sanchez or Edgar?

Edgar has won three fight of the nights now.

Sanchez has some hype. Edgar and Maynard need building. Everything is a hard sell against fighters of BJ, GSP and Silva's class though Silva had 3 PPV worthy fights in Nate, Dan and Belfort.

Sanchez looks like he would give bj more trouble until last night but frankie edgar has won more fights at 155 than diego plus he beat sean sherk.

Maynard should be next in line. Especially over Edgar seeing is how he dominated him.

Dont write off Nate Diaz beating Gray Maynard next month Diaz seems to have a thing for pulling wins out of his ass.
