Why hasn't Pac looked impressive the last few years?

Since the Cotto fight. he hasn't really looked impressive.

He looked alright against Mosley, decent in Marquez 3. Like **** in the Bradley fight, KTFO by Marquez, and he looked decent against Rios.

    When did the dropoff start?

Why do you think it stopped?

It's not rocket science is it? Fighters have a peak, after that peak it's inevitable that their performance will drop.

Ask any druggie and they'll tell you drugs lose their potency. Pac needs a new formula thus Fortune who has blatantly stated his pro stance on PEDs.

His style is so uncompromising. His style is probably best described as a swarmer, and it's virtually impossible to have a lengthy career with that style. The fact that Pac has a few more strings to his bow makes him able to fight slightly longer than most, I think, but the level of training required to do what he does is immense. Only natural to see a drop off.

No more eye of the tiger. He's achieved everything he wanted to achieve in boxing made more money than God and started looking at other parts of his life. He's been working on his marriage, on his political career, and found religion. He's battered from the wars he's been in, stopped taking the PEDs I'm guessing he used to and most of the top guys still do, and he's wearing out like most boxers do at his age. He's still mentally sharp, though not as focused, and physically declining.

Duh.. He feels sorry for everyone he fights and wants them to live.. If Pac fights everyone like he did Hatton, he will beat everyone by ko early...lol

Personally, I disagree with the OP. I thought he looked fine in the Bradley fight taking 9 or 10 of the rounds against a good defensive fighter. Marquez IV was actually really good and I thought a return to the old super aggressive form. Unfortunately, it was too aggressive and he should have been more cautious. From the way he dropped and stayed down, I think he might have had some concussions in training, but even if he hadn't that was still a hell of a shot.

You can think that a fighter's best days are behind them, but Duran went to sleep against Hearns at the same age and he still had a last hurrah in him. He never looked as good at the higher weights as he did at lightweight and Pacquiao has never looked as good as he did at bantamweight, but if he has the kind of will and determination that Duran had he might stick around a few more years and do big things. Duran started picking up losses around that time, but he still had enough in the gas tank to whip Iran Barkley and become middleweight champion.

when all things are equal....he looks ordinary.

when he can weight drain or pick an opponent coming off a recent ass whooping/war...he looks great.

cotto didn't have a real trainer for that fight.

he was slightly removed from having his ass handed to him by margarito.

    he was weight drained....

This. No longevity witht the style of his fighting. I think he still beat rios pretty good TBH. I would like to see Canelo vs Pac.
