I consider it a TRAVESTY that british boxing great Naseem 'The Prince' Hamed has not been inducted in the hall of fame yet.

    Achievements:
    #1 featherweight from 1996-2001.
    Lineal world champion at featherweight
    Won 3 world titles..made 15 defences
    Defeated 8 world champion
Won 36 of his 37 fights
KO % of 82 %..one of the highest ever
NEVER LOST A WORLD TITLE FIGHT(barrera fight was lineal)

In his prime..the prince was THE MOST FAMOUS BOXER IN THE WORLD
He considered retiring undefeated in 1999 because of his continous hand injuries but ADIDAS were offering him a $10 million a year contract

In his april 2001 defeat to barrera..he had a second hand surgery In jan '01..which was kept secret..he had to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks to make it for the fight..and a close fight 115-113 on all three scorecards.

Naseem hamed should be inducted in the hall of fame..do you agree?

He'll get in, but not everyone should get there the first time. Some guys have been waiting for decades, while Hamed is still pretty young to be inducted.

People will come and talk **** about him getting beat by Barrera. But in all fairness, it's been pointed out many times that by that point, he was losing the motivation to train 100% for fights. I think the fame & money got to his head and he just thought more about being a celebrity than putting in the work in the gym. It's a dead shame him and Ingle parted ways, as I feel that they had the best trainer/fighter partnership going at that time.

That isn't much at all. Hamed could probably have made 122 had he been disciplined.

None of the cards were 115-113, never mind all three. The fight was competitive in parts but Barrera clearly was the better man.

Probably, especially with the watered down standards of the day. Lengthy unbeaten streak, wins over several titlists, and if you want to get into the "Fame" aspect he does tick all of the boxes in terms of being an attraction and making his mark.

The lack of a career-defining win, and the decisive loss to the only great fighter he stepped in the ring with, work against him. For these reasons he is someone who will get in when the time is right, rather than being the first-balloter his talent deserved.

Given their personalities and egos it was inevitable that they would split. The relationship had essentially broken down before the public cracks appeared.

If I was Nas i'd want to lose a few pounds before getting inducted

Imagine that turning up to the induction ceremony? "Now introducing Prince Naseem former heavyweiggg....featherweight champion!"

He'll be there, there are just LOADS and LOADS of other boxers who deserve more recognition. But his time will come.

And rather than inducting them, the HOF is busy inducting Stallone and Joe Cortez.

Prince will definitely be in the Hall of Fame.

One of my favourite fighters of all time.

If he doesn't get inducted for his achievements, he will still get in for his "ringwalks".
You don't seriously believe that do you?!
