"It is about pressure, pressure, pressure and not giving Mayweather a chance to show his swanky moves. I think he fights in bursts and he cannot maintain the three full minutes action and concentration in each round" Mayweather could fight full throttle for 15 5 minute rounds. I honeslty think Mayweather knows exactly what Hatton is gonna do and it gonna play right into his hands. Its gonna be embarassing for Ricky!
As nice it will be for Hatton to win, being a Brit, I will enjoy watching Floyd beat him because it's lovely watching a skillful boxer just outclass someone for 12 rounds. Plus Floyd vs Cotto will make 2008>2007.
so i take it you will be betting everything you own in the world on a mayweather win as its so easy money, given that hatton has NO CHANCE.
Rename thread to why Hatton has A chance and you'd be about right. Mayweather aint got the power to keep Ricky at bay, and Ricky is the one who can fight for 15 5 minute rounds. I thought Mayweather faded against Oscar and this will be fought at 100% higher pace than that.
I sincerely hope not cause Hatton is a good, brave fighter and he should come out of this with his tough rep intact so that he and his fans can feel proud of himself/themselves. Floyd is going to fight his usual fight, intelligent strategically, technically superior and I believe stronger, so there's no way Ricky Hatton finishes each of the 3 minutes rounds with any sort of edge by any sweet science criteria ( and loses the rounds) until Floyd rests and gets a breather somewhere past mid-stage and Ricky's commitment and aggressiveness win him a coupla of rounds down the stretch... But I hope not, I hope Ricky Hatton makes it as close as possible so that nothing like embarassment or humiliation or any other displeasing term is used to label this fight and Ricky's performance and status.
So what do you think Hatton should do then, box PBF? Counterpunch? That would be the dumbest thing he could do. No, Hatton is a pressure fighter, that's what he does best, so he should stick to that. Go right at PBF, take some punches in order to land one, and if he manages to land something big, he might have a chance. Difficult to hit PBF tho, even in 12 rds, so I still think PBF wins by UD.
Personally, I think Hattons style has the potential to stir Floyd up. Floyds movement and counterpunching is great, but I don't think Hatton is just going to stop when he gets hit. If Floyd can keep him at bay for 12 rounds he will impress me no end. I think both guys will put a lot of work to the body early in the piece.
