No, I do think a fighter like Witter is worth more than that. To give an example of another fighter who is in the same boat as Witter, Steve Cunningham. Both are world champions and a great fighters, yet scrape by.

Junior Witter should deserve that kind of money, but doesn't because he isn't a draw and can't make the pittance offered to him.

we got something else in common Fallow, I had a season ticket as Maine Road for 3 years in those days of Flticroft, Quinny, Walsh, Gaudino, Beagie, Lomas, Summerbee etc. I was in the Umbro stand 2 seasons then the North Stand the year after. Happy days, even if relegation happened 1 month before I left Manchester.
I've only managed to get to 1 match at Eastlands but still look out for the team.
Hopefully Sven will be gone very soon. I might be the only City fan in the world who can't have Sven or Hatton.

Jack - I swear Witter was gonna get 250k sterling for the Hopkins fight. Or is that wrong? I'd be very surprised if he's never earned 100k for a fight, though I don't know any figures off the top of my head.

I think Hatton has been getting a bad rap here lately and it's mostly because of his fans hyping him pre- PBF-Hatton. He is who he is the best 140 pound fighter in the world who is agressive and somewhat reckless in the ring. With that said anyone who knows how to break down a fight could see Hatton was out of his leauge against PBF, he's simply not in that class and PBF is a stylistic nightmare for him. I think Ricky can still be in exciting fights assuming that he's not matched against a slick counter-puncher with good pop he still probably beats everyone at 140 even after his lackluster performance in his last fight.
I think people should back off of him and let Hatton be Hatton and enjoy the ride while it lasts.

 

I lived in Salford. I used to walk about in City tops and that, thinking about it now it probably wasn't that good an idea. Having said that the only bother I had probably came as a result of me having hair on my head as opposed to a skinhead, and not the shirts. Trouble in Salford easy enough to find as it is

 

keeping Hatton on-side incase PBF takes what would be a disgraceful fight and rematches Hatton.

This has nothing to do with a possible PBF-Hatton rematch as I'm against it. It has everything to do with people quick to bash fighters and call them washed up after a lackluster performance. Hatton is still the man at 140 and he's not done yet, he has atleast 4 more fights left in him.
